Everyone said this in Aion 1 as well and 95% of the servers were Elyos dominated. They did remove the aesthetics that made Asmo's unique so we'll see.

Right on. I'm in south Texas so US East is optimal for me as well. I'm no longer a min/maxer like I used to be back in my vanilla/early WoW days... to many other games (and hobbies) I enjoy playing to dedicate purely to just one, lol.

Goal of anyone should be to have fun. You'll be in fine company as a casual, I'll have alts and don't mind running dungeons on them that aren't aimed at efficiency. Plus this one is different from a lot of most recent Asian games, its very casual friendly and relatively easy, especially for the first month.

So I am hearing a lot of US East, Asmo Faction on the Israphel server for most people? I played this ever so briefly back in the day and wouldn't mind giving it another shot.

Gamers have changed. It use to be that mmo players vastly preferred the good factions in games. When I played EQ everyone wanted to be good, evil races were not rare but not played as much. Same thing with WoW, I first played during BC and picked Horde. Turned out alliance dominated most servers back then.

And Aion was the same way. Almost every server in Aion 1 was dominated by the Elyos. Now everyone wants to be edgy and dark. Wouldn't be surprised if Asmos become the dominant faction.

I may have to pick Elyos this go around.

I think Elyos will easily outnumber Asmo in total numbers, but Asmo might have an edge for PvP. Plus Elyos has Hithanya, Ione and Eztezia(?), so they are clearly superior. Minus points for the English soyboy VA of Caelid though, haha.

Doesnt seem to matter too much unlike the first one. With rotating servers for abyss and you can do dungeons/raids/pve instance stuff with the other faction. Even the aesthetic difference is mainly just the color of default wings iirc. Just MSQ difference. I do wish they would of just made NA one region and label the servers west/east for ping things, but allow grouping and rotating abyss matches between all of NA. Like europe just gets one big region.

Disagree - Faction choice matters a bit for control of Abyss and the subsequent AP farm that ownership allows for.

WHat I mean is in terms of a server being so overbalanced that one side just dominates forever. As in this they at least trying to do something about it, with rotating match servers or even making so it can be elyos vs elyos or asmo vs asmo. And at least dungeon runs via the find party UI can be cross faction.

Also why I wish they would of just made NA one big region(with lables for physical location), so it gives a bigger pool of opponent servers and players to do pug pve content with.

Pvp isn't really a big deal in this game, it's much toned down from Aion 1. For dungeons I wouldn't worry about it, trinity isn't really a thing (yet) except maybe in a few raids? And most people will be running the same few.

One big server would be nice, unfortunately when Korean's make MMO's they don't tend to give a shit about ping, because Korea is so small their internet is basically a LAN.

I wasn't paying attention to time and totally missed that the early start is tomorrow. Hopefully the servers arent a mess by the time I get home from work.

Even though I'm going into work about 3hrs early, I'll probably end up being 3hrs behind launch. There really shouldn't be an issue on capacity during EA and after their Test. Shouldn't. Hopefully.
