The very clearly evil medical guy who looks like he hasnt even entered med school has a overgrown broccoli haircut.I mean you don't hire the guy who created Legion to create a normal zoomer Alien IP show.

Did you not watch covenant? Or Romulus?
I'd be happy to be wrong but this looks like another serving of zoomer slop in old ip skin suit.
Prometheus and Covenant wherent zoomer slop themselves, they where just awful movies.Genuine question though - what makes something 'zoomer slop' ? I would have said that those movies were bad, but not in a zoomer way, but I realised I have no idea what 'zoomer' meant here.
Bizarre negativity? Have you watched any of the last 20 alien movies?I dunno what all the bizarre negativity ever since it was announced is about, but the trailer looks pretty good.
I've not ever watched any of this stuff so I don't know. I just don't watch a lot of TV shows now because of the whole issue with things getting canceled and your left hanging, etc.Not saying it won't be shit but Noah is a great writer. This forum has shit on this series from the get go. it might be crap but he is a very unique writer/ect. If you know the few stuff he's worked on he is not your typical writer
His main works was Fargo and he did the Coen brothers well and did Legion which is a different take on the marvel stuff. The guy knows how to tell a story
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Romulus was Alien version of The Force Awakens. That's the easiest way to describe the movie. Both of them look great, and yeah there's some likable characters or performances and great visuals, but it's all just stupid fan service that doesn't really amount to a hill of beans. It's been a while since I actually sat down with Prometheus, but my immediate thought is that the idea of zoomer is there is no real atmospheric buildup and almost every plot point is fodder to the next point.. it feels like it just goes scene to scene and is crammed.. which prompts wasted "potential." It's full of nuggets with no ability to flourish into anything meaningful.. and whenever it did crescendo those notes, it felt like it just happened.. just like little flashes. Can't tell if it's because technology for vfx is better so they went buck wild with what they could put in versus the limitation they dealt with in Alien and Aliens. I absolutely loved David, but the whole scientist crew just felt throwaway, Guy Pearce reveal felt throwaway, Engineers felt throwaway. When the scientist whos design I thought seemed cool/cyberpunkish got hit in the face with acid and his helmet was melding to his skull was one of the coolest things I had seen in the franchise falls flat because you just didn't get enough time to care for these guys, then he returns as a monster and dies immediately.. The tension just felt missing, the connection felt missing.
Can't speak for Covenant; only watched youtube breakdowns, but I enjoyed Romulus for what it was.. though I understand the sentiment; it's the best alien we've gotten post '95 imo.. but really isn't saying a whole lot. The autistic android while I enjoyed it, was also distracting/comical(up there with Kruger from Elysium kinda bad).. and the tension they threw in while on paper makes sense, it just didn't connect to the viewer. Felt very why tf would you go in there horror film style.. It was ultimately homage-y and just feels like it tries to throws so much at you without allowing you to really process it.
atleast thats my take, could be wrong
That meme really needs a Colonial Space Marine helmet shopped on to the guy, and lose the beard.View attachment 589280
And no the movies did not “follow” a woman, there was a woman who acted like a badass, with no cry baby bullshit
Hawley has a good eye for depicting quality cinematic scenes with interesting ideasI said from the beginning I'm giving this a chance just for Noah hawley
Long as Aliens wreck havoc on earth I'll be happy.Hawley has a good eye for depicting quality cinematic scenes with interesting ideas
Unfortunately, I think his stories/characters tend to be shallow
I am not super optimistic, but it could be a decent way to spend a few hours
Long as Aliens wreck havoc on earth I'll be happy.
The problem is if it takes place before the first alien movie, it's obviously just going to be isolated to that Neverland Island, and there will be a bunch of goofy stuff that happens there, but it's not like the aliens are going to escape out into the wild like aliens Earth war comics, and we already know how everything plays out afterwards, so what the hell is the point.Long as Aliens wreck havoc on earth I'll be happy.
Doesn't have to be Xenomorphs for me. We know they will kill a bunch of bitches. If the four other species get crazy I'd love that too.The problem is if it takes place before the first alien movie, it's obviously just going to be isolated to that Neverland Island, and there will be a bunch of goofy stuff that happens there, but it's not like the aliens are going to escape out into the wild like aliens Earth war comics, and we already know how everything plays out afterwards, so what the hell is the point.
Hence the reason I say it's probably going to suck, but I'm sure they'll be a bunch of cool looking fan service. Honestly think this is just trying to milk the IP because why not for more money.
I guess that is a good point, and maybe that's where you tie in the whole bug hunt stuff from aliens into. Gives them carte blanche to do whatever they want. Who knows. Like I said all watch it, but I'm not holding my breath on it being the greatest contribution to the franchise.Doesn't have to be Xenomorphs for me. We know they will kill a bunch of bitches. If it's the best since Aliens I'll be thrilled. If it's the best since Aliens 3 I'll be happy. If it's better than any of the recent turds I'll be pleased.I guess that is a good point, and maybe that's where you tie in the whole bug hunt stuff from aliens into. Who knows. You know with it being relegated to an island, I wonder if it's going to be like a stupid Jurassic Park type thing, but with aliens! If it's the best since Aliens I'll be thrilled. If it's the best since Aliens 3 I'll be happy. If it's better than any of the recent turds I'll be pleased.
If they nuke the thing from orbit it will be cool. You know with it being relegated to an island, I wonder if it's going to be like a stupid Jurassic Park type thing, but with aliens!
