"THESE ARE WEIRD" talking about her tits. "Boy Genius". Like this shit is so fucking cringe i dont know how you guys are watching this with a straight face.

Ahh right, it's cringe because once the ~10 year old kid is in an adult cyborg she is supposed to be an adult in your mind. You're just not paying attention and/or can't follow along.

The humans are food thing was a little hammy, but I like it. It shows that Kirsh pretty much outright hates and is disgusted by the very humans he serves/made them. Obviously it's supposed to iterate that humans aren't the top of the universal foodchain and they're going to learn that, but the way he says it makes him seem more interesting. He's just a quiet yes man butler, but is he eventually going to bite the hand that feeds? Is it going to be corpo sabotage or some sort more existential awakening? Who knows. I doubt the true depth of the writing, but maybe, just maybe they're not going to disappoint us as much as expected.

It makes way more sense if you consider its a Weyland Synth / Tyrell Replicant telling it to an AI that thinks its human with the maturity of a child.

But hey, im sure a 8 year old waking up and not understanding breasts when they appear one day without all the corresponding hormones involved would be real simple for an AI to figure out (oops a child to figure out)

The problem isn’t that people don’t get it. The problem is that we get it and still think it’s fucking retarded.

Willing to bet that Nibs got a baby octopus injected when it touched her face but as a synth she can't feel anything happening yet suspects one of her eyes is not hers.

Since when did the alien get super strength? I'm really starting to think that the writers of the show didn't pay attention to any of the other movies other than the aesthetics.

I know some of you guys talked the dude behind the show up or his other works, but this isn't making me want to go and check them out that's for damn sure. Maybe it's just all writers room retardedness, I don't know, it's just extremely jarring. So much just stupid shit happening.

So the issue is that it knocked over a more or less empty trailer? After being wounded? or that it may have just got knocked over when it jumped off since the fucker was enormous. Clearly it wasn't strong enough a synth killed it

Anyhow

I took it as the AI in her is rejecting the "transition" so its coping by acting more like Kirsh. But your theory is more fun so I kinda hope its right lol.

Again more good acting by the lost boys, they really do come off as children and its creepy. Havent decided if they are going to kill off Wendys brother or they are going to try to grow the alien in the tank like that. According to the full season non spoiler reviews I have seen starting the next episode is where the season takes off if your issue has been the slow buildup. Really really like Morrow, he just feels ripped right out the 70's and its great.

It's the same stupid size as a regular alien. I mean when the hell did it ever break through a spaceship door, but it was able to turn over a tractor trailer weighing thousands of pounds. It can do that but it can't break into the elevator when her brother was running in the last episode. It's just all across the board, and it takes you out of the show to where it just becomes comedic.

I watched a review about maybe the second episode the other day that came across my feed and the guy basically made the point that it seems like the alien in the show just as whatever you need it to do to advance the plot and that's why it's got super speed and super strength.

I do agree about Marrow and some of the stuff with the kids. Like the serious character stuff I'm actually enjoying, and I honestly want to see more corporate espionage. It just seems like when they've got the alien involved it just gets all wacky.

All alien related plots could be thrown out and the show would be really decent. The kids vs AI vs cyborgs would be a new enough and interesting concept.

Am I disturbed when I wondered if the prodigy dude will end up banging one of the synth kids?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that about the stupid CEO guy and the Android kid. Kind of screwed up.

I also had a thought right before one particular scene that maybe the CEO guy was actually a synth kid, but then there was that scene in the lab. For some reason I thought the older lady from the babadook movie might be his mom or something just based on their interactions, which is I guess why I thought maybe he was a hybrid and is looking for an equal. Could be that he's more human versus synthetic, I don't know, maybe just more of a prototype.

I'm going to finish this out, and hopefully it gets a hell of a lot more serious, and all of this wackiness was just build up, and then everything will come crashing down, because that's what you would expect from an alien movie.

I do think Wendy will end up controlling the aliens at the end of the season, and maybe she starts the alien Earth war or something. There's definitely something going on that they pulled from the comics with I guess the alien telepathy from the Queen mother type deal. I don't know how they're going to spin it but something's happening. She'll probably lock her alien control super powers because she's pissed off about something that happens with her brother.

The alien has no consistency.

Why the hell does it even know the trailer can be tripped let alone have the ability to rag doll it?

Pretty much, it's just there to ride the plot forward, and for violence and gags.

I really watched the second episode before the next one aired this evening and the whole scene with the Lord Fauntleroy party was just absolutely retarded. It went in there and butchered everybody, but never takes anybody stealthily to go throw them into the hive.

I really think it's writer's room bullshit, and I guess maybe the directors for each of the episodes. Problem is I don't say who wrote or announced it and you have to watch the end credits but then it goes to a stupid modern day music song, and I'm not going to sit there and listen to it. Not like I don't enjoy Tool, or on this week's episode Metallica, but it's just not alien.

I've said it time and time again, this is probably the only stupid movie franchise I care about, and their Star Warsing it up.

I hope I'm wrong and it turns out good despite a couple of bad episodes and just stupid mistakes, but we all know modern day Hollywood, and that's probably not going to be the case.

I think it's probably just too dicey with the executives thinking they can make a bunch of money on it being a total horror vehicle, I'm that's why you get all of the just oddball jokes and random stuff for your modern audience.

My guess for nibs is not that she's infected by the eye but rather she can't come to grips with having a synth body. The eye alien was just a trigger for her to notice her eye isn't human. Nibs body isn't her body so she'll self mutilate. It the writers are especially sinister she'll willingly put the eye alien in her head.

I'm curious what the deal with the medic is. Nothing about the story thus far shows any real value for individual lives. Other than being Wendy's brother he's completely expendable. Why extract a lung instead of just letting the Allen impregnate him normally. I suppose he's leverage over Wendy but at that point they don't know if Wendy will survive.

As far as why his lung, I'm sure they'll play into some brother DNA alien making the telepathy (with a no longer biological sibling) powerful enough to not only feel their pain but control them.

They've always been shown as fairly strong, in aliens one carries a struggling colonial marine up a wall one armed when they kick off the ambush in the hive.

I don't think they're rag dolling a 40ft container strong though.

Does the brother have a chest burster in him? The way he was gooed up makes it seem like it. Plus the alien just wounding him instead of killing him when it had the chance.

He seems like maybe one of the top billed actors so I would be surprised if he dies so early.

Why does the Alien in the first Alien know to hide in the escape pod when it would have no knowledge of a self destruct sequence. Also while it is on there does it not immediately kill Ripley? Is it suddenly just smart now and knew the thing it was in was a ship and needed a pilot? Thats weird. If that's the case why did the one that took down the ship in Aliens just not wait for it to land so it didnt kill itself?

They are monsters that will do whatever the plot requires them to do. For whatever reason that's no longer allowed and everything must have intricate knowledge of everything regardless of what it is. Hell the Alien isnt really important in the context of the show, we are getting more of them, and it will be fun watching everyone on the Neverland island get killed in different ways

This franchise has not been consistant from one move to another from one spinoff to another from one game or comic or whatever to another. They are a fun movie monster but nitpicking or taking them too seriously isnt really the point of them or the show.

They never gave a real clear shot of the surgical suite but it appeared they were doing normal life saving surgery on the brother, removed a collapsed lung, hooked up the removed lung to life support, and then put the alien tadpole in with the lung. I guess this allows them to keep the actor around so he can recover at full health and physical capability and also have a brother-DNA-alien that shares a bond with the no-longer-has-DNA-sister and her telepathic ability.
