One of the first time I ever saw the movie was on TV I think when I was in third grade, and even the TV cut being edited for swearing and what have you, it had the sentry gun scene. If you buy the extended or directors cut edition it's got all of the stuff that you should remember.

I just rewatched it for the first time this year last night and my wife got annoyed because I was trying to get her to watch it but she doesn't like scary movies. God damn it's still one of my favorite films of all time, and I couldn't tell you how many times I've watched it, probably close to the 100 mark.

I guess ep4 is the first filler episode. No real plot advancement. Just lots of shots of 2 people talking. I imagine episodes 4,5,6 are going to be a lot slower due to budget constraints. Then 7 and 8 will have some more interesting and action heavy storylines. It is what it is with mediocre scf-fi.

Not really a filler episode. We got a Xenomorph and a synth that seems to be looking for allies, and a hybrid that's out of control.

this is a universe of established things

there isn’t magic or mysticism

they made these bodies for the kids so now did Wendy get a special one or all the same?

So when they point at robot body #137464 can you, with the same exact parts we gave you, hear this and they say no then they are going to have to come up with something science based and not something gay feelings related

as for the chestburster it’s been established it takes on traits of the host and I also figured provided nutrients it needed to grow and burst

so it didn’t become a lung alien lol but I figured growing from a single body part only it was going to be derpy or else it got what it needed from the dna of the lungs and coded it to be from a human host

alien whisperer stuff is pretty gay as to the alien it’s looking at a toaster she is just a robot not an ripley/alien mix to be looked at as a fellow alien

and the kids are getting annoying

redhead thinks it’s pregnant - isolate her and scan her and figure out wtf talking about

bobs vagene - being weird scan him and find out he’s compromised

one wants a new name - shouldn’t there be a prime directive programming that cancels out these thoughts?

Wendy fought one and killed it under circumstances that we understand but were not shown. And before she "lost power" after that fight they showed a milky white liquid flowing from somewhere on her head. Presumably the soldier did something to her in that fight.

She couldn't hear them before that.

The way I saw that scene, it was like when a dog tilts its head at the TV because there's barks coming from it. Or a cat looking curiously at the phone when it hears someone it knows. Wendy was chittering at the chestburster and it was curious about that.

On another topic, the way several of the "kids" are beginning to act strangely (identity crisis for Isaac, psychosis and delusions for Nibs, strange unexpected abilities for Wendy) would lead me to think this isn't just a scam with AI bots, you'd think by the time we have spaceships that can go FTL and the ability to create immortal synths, AI would have been pretty much mastered a while ago. I think the unexpected side effects are precisely because this was actual genuine "consciousness" transfer into synthetic bodies, and that must have done something to fuck with the minds/cognitive abilities of some of them.

That could explain also why they don't have obvious safeguards such as not being able to be manipulated / guild tripped like little kids like Moreau is doing with Slightly.

(I'm going with Moreau spelling because I'm pretty sure the character is a reference to the Isle of Dr Moreau, where the mad scientist is surrounded by a weird experimental menagerie, which sounds very similar to the Maginot cargo).

Pretty sure she doesn't really think she is pregnant and is absolutely losing it. She's clearly having issues between being a robot and thinking she's a real girl.

Yeah obviously she's delusional, but I thought I saw a bump in her stomach when she said it, I don't know if it was just her posture, trying to look "bumpy", or if she actually like went to the beach and shoved 10 pounds of sand up her crotch USB slot.

My guess is that the other hybrid girl Curly is going to tattle about what Wendy said in the lab about a "baby", there's already some resentment towards Wendy for being the favorite, and Curly was dismissed like trash in the lab by the CEO. Nibs will be excited about having a real baby but will be disappointed because the eggs don't care about synths or hybrids, and so she'll turn to the eyeball squid creature because at least that one seemed interested in digging into her face and at this point she seems to be really obsessed about that.

Or we get a bipedal sheep zombie going on a rampage in the facility, shooting guns and doing backflips and martial arts.

I think the eye thing got into the pilot of the ship and caused it to crash on Earth so it can do what it was going to do. They said it’s smart. I bet it’s real smart.

Finally got around to this. The bipedal sheep controlled by the eyeball parasite was the freakiest thing on the show. The eyeball parasite in general was the most horrifying alien (the cat scene is something you can't un-see).

Liked all of the world building. It was a bit slow at times, and none of it really felt canon or "important", but it still piqued my interest and if they end the season with a bang, they might have something here.

Is it 7 episodes or 8? Google says 7 but I've seen people saying both. Either way, seems a little short.

Looking forward to the second half.
