Anyone else that uses Amazon Prime having items appear at random in their shopping carts? I've had it happen twice in the last 2 days. Not even sure what the scam would be, they would be coming to me. Changed my PW this morning but it's really fucking annoying.

MIL uses Prime to watch TV (she apparently doesn't mind commercials). Had the same idea RE: Alexa but the only thing it shows attached to my account are the 2 fire sticks that are destroyed in a land fill somewhere.
This last time it was feminine pads , MIL is 76 and my wife had to have a total hysterectomy at 39 so neither need those. Fucking weird.

I was just using Prime Tv and during a commercial for some kind of facial cleanser and it said “click OK (on your tv remote) to add to your Amazon shopping cart”. Pretty fucking toxic. Pretty sure that’s what you’re dealing with.

I think my time as a prime member is at an end, that’s way too fucking greedy.

You can get around the commercials if you want to set up a multimedia server for your main TV and use a browser w/Ublock, but of course that will cost a hell of a lot more than a Firestick or Google device.

I haven't played with Google devices in some years, so there may be some programs that have ad blocking that you can side load onto it too. I know there is one for YouTube, dunno if there is one for Prime/Netflix.

i would order more

Wasn't Amazon, but I almost felt bad for the delivery guy when I ordered a mattress/bedframe. I noticed him in time to go out and help the last few feet. We chatted for a couple of seconds about this shit being big and heavy. Then I was like, oh is this it? I guess the other half (split-king) comes tomorrow. Think I saw him die a little.

Rofl I love how they dump it out....then take a picture of it to confirm the delivery.
i don't have an overhang? or whatever covered area its called so i bought a huge delivery box, basically something like this

i'm not worried about theft, just rain.

anyway on subscription day when i do get a few big boxes, while they don't just dump it like the guy, they stack it in front of my door, and ignore using the delivery box, literally if i was an old woman i would be trapped in the house.

your front door opens outward?
I always wondered why residential front doors almost always open inward. It is almost impossible to kick a door in if it swings outward because of the jamb. And you can put a full length astragal (fancy name for a metal plate) on it to prevent crowbars. In commercial almost every exterior door swings outward, although that's mostly for safety/fire exit reasons, but still, they are far more secure. And before anyone talks about pulling the hinges off, a couple dollar add to the hinges make them impossible to remove (NRP = Non Removable Pin, it is a little set screw that holds the pin in place) without a power saw, and if they have that you're fucked a million other ways already.

If you have a security screen door then I guess your normal door has to open inward, but outside of "urban" areas very few people have those anymore. Nor do most people have those little chains they can use to open the door a few inches (which can easily be kicked in anyway). I'm guessing it is just some holdover from when those things were more common?

My guess is different codes for different zoning. Fire Department wants to be able to kick in doors to get to people trapped in housefires, since people tend to notice housefires slower, due to being asleep. Rule of thumb is a house fire doubles in size every 30 seconds (until totally engulfed and getting O2 starved) and axes are slow to get doors open when every second counts. Also, most (all?) commercial buildings have a sprinkler/foam fire suppression system.

If you live in the ghetto and have a security screen door and bars on your window, then I guess you're fucked!

One factor for residential doors opening inward is so someone can't rip the door away from you if you open it to talk to someone. It's much harder to barge into a house if the occupant can put their foot/body in the way of the door, but if it opens outward they can just rip it away from your grip and then you're fucked.
