A friend and I are taking an excursion through here next month. So far we only have Granada on the docket because we really want to see the Alhambra. We already have tickets for this. But we're debating where we should go next. It's going to be Semana Santa so shit is probably going to be busy. My buddy, who lives in Spain, suggests going to Seville. But just based on the pictures below, I really want to go to Ronda. It looks like it belongs in Game of Thrones. Anyone been to this place before? Is there more to it than the scenery? It's awesome, but if Seville offers way more things to take up the day (likely) that will probably be worth more of our time. I would like to hit up both, but my friend is broke ass English teach who probably can't afford more than a 3-4 day/night trip and we're already staying in Granada two days. Are there any Andalusian suggestions that absolutely trump any of these places? My friend lives in Madrid and hasn't spent much time in the south so he's not that helpful.

I spent some time working Seville, and I absolutely recommend spending a day or two there at least. You can visit the largest gothic cathedral in the world and see Christopher Columbus' tomb. It's pretty cool, and you can go up into the tower and get an amazing view of the city.

Seville is also one of the few places where they still do bull fights, I believe. I caught one while I was there and while it was certainly somewhat disturbing, it was a really cool cultural spectacle that I'd recommend you see if possible.

Speaking of Game of Thrones, they're using some location in/around Seville for filming, so you could check out Dorne. I can't remember offhand the exact location, though.

I'm saving up for a trip come next spring (hopefully). At this point it's between a week-ish in Andalusia (Seville to Ronda to Malaga to Valencia) or Italy (Venice to Florence to Rome).

Soooo can't decide.

I'll report back after my trip. We're going to Ronda instead of Seville. Ronda just looks too cool to pass up.

Last time I was in Spain I went to the Dali exhibit at the Reina Sofia. Some badass shit there.

Oh, I know all about jamon iberico. This isn't my first trip to Spain. I will absolutely get my fill on that. Shit is delicious.

If any of you guys have a chance to go to Ronda (pictures in the OP), do it. It's stunning. Probably the most beautiful place I've ever been to. We kept comparing it to Hyrule. At point we started streaming the Gerudo Valley song because it had to be done. It just fit the scenery so perfectly.

Some pics I took:

There was a lady playing a harp in the gazebo and it was perfect for the setting.
