This outfit would be a straight up plain frumpy outfit on most women. But on Ms Daddario? Whoa! It's a common cliche but she's literally one of those women that could put on a dress made out of a potato sack, not put on any makeup, and still be the most beautiful thing in the room.

If the books hadnt been such a dumpster fire this should be off the charts in terms of fan rage about not sticking to the source material. After Ep 1 I'm not sure there has been a single thing in common between the books and the show.
But the books started interesting and rapidly degenerated into shit so its true to the source material in spirit if not in storyline, plot, characters, or anything else.
