If you want something of value. Autographs, and original art is where its at.
Most artists sell original pages.

An original Stelfreeze piece will be worth more, and far far more memorable then just about any individual book.

The only comics worth anything, are the few golden age ones that are famous. Action comics, amazing fantasy. Spiderman.
Your kid will have no attachment to that stuff.

You know what's better than that? Bricks of Nazi gold.

Investing in Golden Age Comics: all the fun of not touching or reading, all the ROI of hiding your money under your mattress, and typically you sell at auctions so you have no security... Nice.

Sounds like you want to find a way to spend money with the family and find the way that loses the least amount of money.
