Ok gents, I just upgraded my PC to something that can actually play new games.

What is the best extraction shooter on the market? I tend to play solo/pub.
Arc Raiders probably, Tarkov just hit 1.0 if you want a more "realistic" take on it.

Tarkov if you want a very well developed gameplay experience but also you're a masochist who isn't turned off by comedically greedy devs.

Arena Breakout Infinite if you're looking for something without so much strict emphasis on realism and gameplay that puts more emphasis on pvp, as long as you don't mind that the endgame drifts away from extraction shooter and more towards arena deathmatches.

Arc Raiders if you want a more toned down experience with zero emphasis on realism, the highs won't be as high but the lows won't be so soul-crushingly low either.

Tarkov if you enjoyed the "DayZ gameplay of needing to manually load single rounds into magazines and needing to shift items in and out of bags in order to use them and needing half a dozen different items to not die after being shot" experience but also you're a masochist who isn't turned off by comedically greedy devs.

Adjusted to make it more accurate

Tarkov if you want to spend over half your time managing your inventory while playing a game that also looks like shit and costs five times what the competition does.

Tarkov also opens up SPT and the modding community but will be based off beta code since they changed how they compile stuff in 1.0. SPT does have a bunch of cool shit + QOL stuff.

I was able to test out the game on the SteamDeck Tuesday night while at the in-laws. Played a few round with Utnayan Utnayan during night raids. The game ran around 35-45 fps and there was some noticeable pop in. PvE wasn't bad but PvP was rough for me. I'm sure I could optimize the game some but I just ran with what it gave me. Our last raid I ended up getting the Wolfpack blueprint which was exciting.

I see a lot of discussion whether there should be a PvE only mode and I'm not sure how fast that would get stale or how much added difficulty would need to be added. Call me crazy, but I did have this idea for PvP as a work around to the PvE only mode. What if a player was flagged for PvP if he knocks someone he engaged first. The indicator could be an Arc drone (Wasp maybe) that joins him so others would know he's hostile. If possible, they could write that into the lore where the Arc take notice of a humans hostility towards their own and want to supervise the PvP. As a PvE player you could choose to engage the flagged person but you have to take out the PvP'r and his drone. To keep it fair, the drone becomes hostile after the PvP'r goes into DBNO. You have to take out the drone or it will rez the flagged person from DBNO. A hurtle for the PvP'r would also be he would have to treat other Arc with some respect not to anger his drone companion. Angering or Killing his drone could create a wanted system causing bigger drones to pursue him.

Of course there's room to work with the idea but I thought it could be interesting using the Arc themselves to somewhat police PvP with both positive and negative side effects.

Only selfish/ignorant morons want a pve mode as it's pretty devastating for the health of the game. You split the playerbase and make the pvp experience even more toxic for new/casual players because most of the other casuals are over in pve, dramatically raising the ratio of sweaty tryhards in pvp raids.

Wonder if a patch improved it, wouldn't run on my deck, was trying to go for unlimited fps and while sliding the bar down it would crash.

Also you Wakandan I have at least 80 hours in the game, hours of looking just for that bp.

Too convoluted, and pve only would indeed get dull rapidly, short of the queens, they already are free farm, with the only anxiety being dropping the medium ones before someone tries to gank you.

As much as there's cowardly PvP tactics, I've accepted that without PvP I wouldn't have as much fun. It's nice when you meet someone who can shoot you but does not.

I've also gotten better at not bursting into areas making as much noise as possible. More crouching and listening to see if anyone's in a building. Also not hesitating if I don't get an appropriate answer to "friendly?"
