Hard not to use the Headhunting reward on Ardelia to unlock
instead of picking up one of the two I don't have (Last Rite and Ember).
Like you guys have said the cost of leveling a new team is currently so high it's hard to justify right before the harder content is unlocked, hmmmm
Question: Are there expected to be events with higher than normal headhunting rewards? AKA: Should I always just use my Basic Headhuntg tickets whenever I get them, or should I wait for some event?
There are patches with higher gacha currency but it's usually stuff like half anniversary/anniversary, or sometimes seasonal patches like christmas/chinese new year/summer kind of thing, just depends on the games. Events specifically yes some will give a lot of pulls while others won't. That's just gonna depend on how they do it. Currently since it's 1.0 we don't really know how they're gonna structure the game income overall until we see 1.1.
To give an example, for HSR/ZZZ which are the Hoyo games I'm familar with, during a patch which are almost always 6 weeks long, you'll get 2 new banners of 3 weeks each and get roughly 100 limited pulls and 25-30 standard pulls. The pulls income is divided in 4 somewhat equal parts, permanent content(new story, new special content like rogue-like dungeon, infinite tower, aoe battles and whatever else similar to Etchspace Salvage in Endfield), recurring content(endgame modes which reset every week or two, in Endfield Umbral Monument which releases on the 12th), events(mini games, special combat event, character events, currently it's been only the char stories but there's more coming this weekend) and check-in stuff(dailies/weeklies).
That said we don't really know how it's structured here since it's release patch and these are always weird. Also always a lot more pulls than usual. The patches are also seemingly longer(but might just be because it's 1.0) and have 3 banners(again might just be because 1.0) so some shit might be switched heavily.
As for basic headhunting(standard banner), you can usually use them as you get them. However sometimes they'll add new chars to it, so holding them for that can be useful IF you don't need anything else. Generally at this point you'll still want 5* and their dupes and maybe also 6* and their dupes so worth using. Problem of waiting is even if you do wait for new chars to be added, there's no guarantee you're gonna RNG into them anyway, so it's kinda whatever. Often new chars added to standard are given for free(a single copy but since dupes aren't too strong in this game that should be enough), and they're mostly lower rarity chars(5* or below).
