They always said this game was going to be niche. They are getting what they asked for I guess. The problem is, unless niche means whales, the game cannot survive long on a niche market. If they could have waited until Beta to go on Steam, they might have had better results. Everyone knows this , but as stated, clearly the funds must be drying out. Despite the recent hick-ups, the game did actually do better than I thought it was going to do on the first day.

How is it possible that they can't even manage Discord? I mean login server issues, DDOS, overloaded servers were always gonna be a problem...but Discord? They failed at just having Discord accounts that work??

Not sure it's marketing (although if I didn't check this thread, I wouldn't have even known it was going into EA).

It's more that I have zero faith in the team to do anything worthwhile with the game. Maybe 5 years ago I would've been onboard, but everything I've seen about this has been a disaster. And this just looks like a cash grab before they finally give up.

Their 30k concurrent numbers (28,490 right now) support at a minimum 250k box sales, probably closer to 400k, what are you talking about?

wtf are you talking about? You said it had low sales figures on steam, and it was pie in the sky to think 100k. I posted pics from steam charts, you are wildly wrong on both fronts. It's being outsold only by Clair Obscura which just swept the video game awards and on sale which makes sense.

I have no vested interest, not even following this game. You can hate on it all you want but no reason to lie

If it ended up getting a big Christmas sale where I could pick it up for 20 bucks, I'd try it. I'm not interested enough in the game to pay $40+ on it.

I bought it but may have made a mistake. The concurrent is low because some of us can’t get on. I tried for several hours yesterday and couldn’t even log in, that was pretty dumb of me I guess to buy so soon. Can’t remember last time I paid for something that I couldnt even log into after hours of trying, even pantheon wasn’t this trash

It has the EQ PVE structure of farming a camp, pulling to it to exp and camping named that spawn every 20min. No private zones, etc.

God damn, you are one dumb lump of frozen dog shit. Numerical position on the chart does not reveal actual sales numbers. Your estimate is laughable, 250k-400k? Whenever an estimate is off by 5%, it means someone is pulling numbers out of their ass. Before you finish pulling things out of your ass, pull your head out of it before you go on your way.

goddamn you are fucking retarded. You think a game that hit 31k peak concurrent users at 11am on a weekday sold less than 100k boxes? Is that your argument? 250-400k is literally the range of sales based on that peak user number, based on data from literally every fucking other MMO to ever fucking launch. 5-12% of your users peak at major milestones such as launch, expansion, etc, with lulls between during content droughts is normal, expected figures.

and that's assuming there are no server issues/queues preventing people from getting online, which is being widely reported, it's probably even more box sales than that. Either way, i'm sure once they work out server issues the numbers will go even higher from there.

Would you care to make a wager of it?

It is, but I have seen some people playing the system. One such example is to use one person to run around the mini dungeon areas to loot a person's corpse. It flags the person and of course the group in the area attacks the person. They then find out quickly that the rest of the group is waiting in the wings. Also I think area damage will hit a flagged person and flag you, so be careful around the names in purple.

That's some straight up UO shit. That's why hide was such a great skill to master, loot a corpse or pickpocket someone and vanish. Such fun times. Does bard get a provoke monster ability, that would be great.

There is a setting you can uncheck, something like "area effect abilities target hit non flagged combatants" or something. Not in game atm so cant check but its obvious when you see it.
