It's probably just normal layoffs for a gaming company. Most devs are not needed for the whole development cycle. Money management could be an issue to though.

Right now at 7am pst mid week, Ashes has more players online than ESO and Ashes is just an alpha game. But doom and gloom is par for the course on this site.
