If you bought on steam and didn't log hundreds of hours (not sure how you could since there was barely any game) you should be able to get a full refund. i had only logged 3.8 hours online and refunded a while ago.
if you backed the kickstarter for any amount of money at all (which, why? have you not learned?) then I'm pretty sure you are fucked, maybe you have options if you are in Europe they have different laws, but pretty sure the steam launch "counts" as a launch hence no refunds.

Refunds are only defaulted to customer if the game shuts down (because at that point its broken the Early Access agreement).
Success in getting a refund will vary outside of that happening.

I don't think I ever fought you in the arena. Most of emarr were inbred retards when it came to pvp, but there was one warrior that was sickeningly good at jousting. There were times where we could get a few dozen people fighting in there. I think westleyy (forget what guild he lead) was the one I remember seeing in there the most.

It will be interesting to see what happens with this. Whoever is in charge now will want to continue developing the game. But with all the original devs gone and with the possibility that they are farming it out to cheap overseas devs, it doesn't sound promising at all. Especially if the people running the show now are are some sort of private equity firm with no actual gamers at the lead.
