It really depends on which version of PS3 you have. If you have the 60GB launch version it's worth about the same as you bought it for because of the Linux capability.
When I moved out of my house years ago, my mother decided to sell it in an estate sale which I still give her shit for to this day.

The rest are basically worthless.

No shit? It was right when they launched and you couldn't find them. Had a TV crap out on me, so ended up going to Best Buy and buying a rear projection TV to replace my old 27-in zenith tube that I got when I graduated high school. Remember those things!

I remember my brother and I were walking out and one of the employees was pushing a cart stacked with PlayStations, and I said hey are those reserved and he was like nope we're about to put them on the shelf. Both of us bought one.

I'm pretty sure it's the 60 gig because he said which one do you want and I was like give me the 60, and this was all during the Playstation release craze so I'm assuming it's the first gen.

Do people run them as emulators or something?

dang really? i bought a fat backwards compat PS3 a few years ago on Ebay for $100. works great, played some older FF games and stuff on it.
