Well to be fair I play slow. Whatever the 'time to beat' normally is I always go over it. But yeah fatigue really set in. I also didn't play the DLC that just came out , fuck that. And I had open items I could have done but it's just the same stuff over and over.

I'll never get AC Shadows or another AC game ever again but don't begrudge those who do for the simple reason that they spend $$$ for dedicated artists that painstakingly build a beautiful world to put Ubislop content into. If I was into Japanese or Viking history/architecture/culture I'd probably play Shadows and Valhalla just to enjoy the world they built. I just wish Ubisoft would re-evaluate how they are ruining a franchise despite spending so many millions on it.

Nah, most of the genuine talent left long ago, now these dev teams are full of passionless diversity hires who just lazily do busy work as instructed or rely on AI to do most of the work for them. I mean there was lots of controversy about the architecture in this game being inaccurate before the game even released, should tell you what you need to know about the genuine passion behind it.

Fuck these dev teams, only thing I have for them is the world's smallest violin if they lose their jobs.

I played the Rome one and loved it, play Valhalla one and meh. Part of it is my own fault for running around collecting every dot on the map like an OCD asshole so I burned out. Also had maxed everything so content was a joke.

but still the story wasn’t as good and the DLC stories were even worse outside of the Ireland one. Now I refuse to play shadows because of all this and I don’t know if I could stomach another 100+ hour slog….and apparently I’m incapable of ignoring the dot on the map. #fail

i may eventually go back try an older one I never played, but otherwise I’m on hold for sure. It’s the same formula only with no major enhancements and a worse story.

felt the same way about FarCry. My first iteration was FarCry 5 and my god I fell in love. The story, theme, jokes, soundtrack. I fucking loved that game. until the damn expansion pack with empowered black chicks and no notable story. Never went back to those games either. Terrible shame

Valhalla was a cut and paste hack job. All the small towns were identical. York was the only location even slightly memorable. Ubisoft is sadly done. Garbage company.

Tencent should have let them stay underwater. Not sure what value they saw in giving Ubisoft a bailout package if they aren't taking a controlling interest in the IPs.

The last good AC for me was Odyssey.

Valhalla was kinda ok, but I got bored halfway through and struggle to finish it and didn't play any of the DLC.

I actually enjoyed Mirage too, but it was also forgettable.

Shadows I didn't like much, mostly because I didn't like the world traversal. I like running from A to B in mostly a straight line when exploring open worlds. Shadows world required going around mountains all the time greatly making the time to get from A to B much longer and it pissed me off.

Ubisoft is done I think, I have very little faith they'll manage to correct course at this point.

Friend an his kid came over, let the kid play Valhalla.

He managed to get the boat stuck on land, after which me and my buddy spent 30 minutes trying to unstuck the boat, which flopped all over.

Kids enthusiasm didn't even come close to ours when we finally got it back into the water.
