I mean, whatever the role is, it will be a «gimmic» role. He can’t fight or swear due to the pg-13 nature of the movie so my guess is a small cameo of not him fighting, but losing, then having the scene of him and Thor that was in Deadpool and Wolverine. With perhaps a 4th wall breaking nod to himself being in that scene again.

Yeah, I doubt it'll be a significant role. Though, Hollywood does push some Pg-13 to the limit. They could get away with some harsh language and even "minor gore". We already know they can use "fuck" at least once.

Have they given any sort of in-universe reason that ostensibly Tony Stark is now Victor von Doom?

I figured he'd be an evil TS from the F4 universe (and that Johnny Storm would be his younger self, given the actor's striking resemblance to a young RDJ) but none of that has materialized yet (nor will it, most likely)

I really hope they just gave him bucketloads of cash not to show his face and he has zero connection to Tony Stark. SO tired of the variant shit.

If I was gonna bet on it, it's going to be a variant, or Doom/a Doombot is using TS face to fuck with the 616 universe.

My bet is that it will be some variant Tony Stark showing how "one of two little differences" and Ironman ends up turning into Doom.
