Went to France most of Normandy this summer with the mrs and girls. Saw a lot of ww2 places and museums in between the womens' shopping sprees. Visited Ohama and Utah for the first time, and various Easy Company and individuals soldier landmarks and memorials, saluted. Had a whole bright july day at the american cemetery, very profound experience. Sat by the roses and just tried to fathom it. Not ashamed to say I shed tears more than once. And so many workers keeping the grass and grounds impeccable. Surprised when going along the highway when they closed afternoon that there is a cemetery for german fallen soldiers too, but didn't have time to visit this round. Also found a few monuments for danish sailors lost on d-day as well. Didn't have the heart for Foy, albeit passed it driving back to Denmark. Anyway, I'll be watching the Legacy, obviously.
