So been giving this a shot on the PS4.

Last night I saw "China Rising out now" yet, not a single server was running the maps, and yes Im premium. I did not see any patch either (that is sorely needed on the PS4, how the fuck do you manage to get a console version to crash to desktop?!). So... is it out, about to come out, canceled, Xbone gets it first?

(Also, I have to say that living the life of a spotter with a Mav is much more relaxing then being killed randomly by people you empty entire clips in just to see them turn around and double tap your ass into oblivion, go go net code!)

Damn, the frame rate on this game on the PC is bi-polar as fuck. Just goes all over the place even at medium settings.

Maybe I should let them cook this game a little bit longer. Seems like they took more time to make the PS4 and One versions (except the online, which is awful right now) work well, than they did the PC version.

Dunno the only time my FPS drops is when the big buildings on certain maps go down, otherwise its pretty smooth. Though I run on low on my old ass machine(i7 920 and a 5850).

Lol I dont see how a hand thrown size model airplane(given the scale shown in the very beginning of him throwing it) kills people by hitting them.

So is anyone else constantly leaving servers for no reason? Constantly getting disconnected from EA Online..not too surprising I guess.

Feel your pain, first shooter I have played since UT and Quake 2 days. Once you learn the maps and get a silencer(huge) the game does change. You can flank people and take out 2 or 3 before they realize where you are shooting from. Bads (myself included) will not even notice and you can kill off a group.

I don't have any FPS slowdown and I'm playing medium settings (i've got a fairly average PC at this point). I did experience 3 different crashes last night (one was the server itself, two was just me) and I had been crash free pre-patch so I'm not sure if that's what going on. I agree that learning the maps helps alot, in the beginning you're basically fodder since you have no clue where to go and are out in the open half the time. This game is absolutely brutal when it comes to being out in the open for large amounts of time, it almost guarantees death. Running solo to objectives is almost instant death. Stay with people, even if it's just one other person.

I'm slowly learning these lessons as I'm playing. The annoying thing to me is getting blindsided half the time. I'm usually dead or close to it before I even know what hits me, it's impossible to react in time.

God, the Recon binoculars are amazing. So fucking OP. Spot everyone, flank with silenced carbine, feel like a goddamn ninja.

Only issue is my teammates pick a lot of them off before I can get closer but hey, it's points.

the ps4 patch to unlock china rising and fix bugs is due out later this week, they mentioned it somewhere but I guess it takes longer or something.

re: PC FPS, to really max out you have to run Win8 and latest graphic drivers. Its a pretty big FPS jump going from Win7 to Win8, like 15-25%, just for BF4. Disconnect from EA Online is a big problem, I was getting it ALLLL the time a few weeks ago and had to do some shit with my windows firewall and punkbuster to fix it. If you are on a disconnect streak try turning the firewall off a second and see if that fixes it, if so you can google firewall bf4 to see what exactly to do. With the latest patch though I have gotten it a few times again though.

That paper airplane recon shit is fucking awesome, now I wanna unlock one

Having no filter option on the fucking Battlelog for vanilla maps is frustrating as shit since I still haven't seen all the vanilla maps yet.


Edit: I remember why I hate these games now, Dice allowing the entire team to drop into our spawn zone and take every vehicle.

Not a very big fan of the new maps so far, maybe they will grow on me. Also I hope DICE tones down the siren from the bomber wince it is *always* going off and gets annoying.

I personally haven't had any issues with bf4 on ps4 since the patch last week or whatever that made conquest work. No crashes and can't remember getting dced

I get this freeze up with audio loop that I've notoriously had problems with Battlefield games from the very beginning. Some things never change I suppose.

Are they an unlock or what? Haven't seen any binoculars.

Ahh nm...must be the PLD. I didn't realize it worked on infantry.

Anyone heard anything about server rentals becoming available for PS3?

Also, is there a way to view the whole map? I think in BF3 you could hold the select or start button but I have no clue how to view it now.
