yeah I read back over it a 2nd time and was like...wtf. Guess my brain fixed it the first time through.

People should play the open betas which they've made it VERY easy to access. No money, no preorder, just log in. The only downside is usually these beta tests have limited playmodes/maps/weapons which is kind of a fake way to test the game outside the very basics of it.
None of what I watched really wowed me at all, it looks good graphically, and the UI seemed similar to BF3/BF4, but there wasn't anything that really drew me in. One of the problems is that a lot of the streamers they got to demo them aren't BF players or tactical players. Either scream = funny streamers, popular because attractive streamers, or W-key CoD babies. The streamers I watched all seemed to congregate to the TDM mode, which is the absolutely LEAST interesting playmode to BF players probably, and in the Conquest modes didn't do anything but rush in and die over and over with SMG's/shotguns. Zero competent vehicle play, testing of gadgets, or actually trying to "win" the game. Just CoD-mode in both TDM and non-TDM.
Means that hopefully there's more to it than that and we'll get to see for ourselves for those of us who actually like the complete BF package instead of zoom n boom. But honestly if that's the crowd they're catering to, it may be as much of a letdown as 2142.

It's the way they handle the lobbies like they are a break between each game. We had a full server then they split us out and you get stuck waiting on a server with enough space for a new server THAT WE JUST HAD!
If it's good people will still buy it but I miss a lot of things we had in the late 90s.

Hmm I never played their previous title. I loaded this and went to hit play and got some error that I need to enable secure boot.
A quick google search later and some reading and my anxiety to enable this is rising. It seems so 50/50 if it just works fine or you end up having to go through hoops to get your PC working again(like removing the cmos battery).
What kind of game requires bios changes to run, crazy times.

I guess Windows 11 already has secure boot on by default, but I'm on Windows 10 as well. Maybe this will be the begrudging push to make me switch over to Windows 11.
Edit: Well I had to update an Nvidia driver (last one was from 6/13/25) to play. Then it worked fine for me, but I checked in my MSINFO32 and I already had Secure Boot on. At least I can stave off Windows 11 for a few more months.

you can only get early access (7-8) right now if you are an EA Pro sub, $17 on PC/xbox I believe. everyone will be streaming it and you can play aug 9th (anyone) so you have to have a huge hard on for battlefield to get in 2 days early

You can run the client after you preload it on Steam. It seems to run well. We'll fine out for sure later this week.
You could also be in early access if you signed up for the EA labs things before 07/31. That's how I got in. You should have gotten an email from EA about it.

I'd rather it not exist, but having both people have it in equal amounts is absolutely hilarious. This is definitely the second best option. MnK is going to absolutely destroy every single Controller player. The only advantage I can see is some vehicle controls with dual sticks, but even then that's a very slim advantage.
