If it was any other company then EA I'd say it was a good way to find ways cheats are working and banning everyone after the beta ends.

Since its EA, I'll just assume they are retarded

I am glad I ran into none of that. Nothing would sap the fun from the game more than running into a cheater every game. I don't expect any game to be cheat free, especially if its popular, but it should be a rare occurrence.

This is hilarious. They almost never ban anyone. BFV has had the same handful of hackers terrorizing the servers since its release. They want you to think they will stay on top of it but i know they won't.

I reported 2 insane hackers in 2018 with video footage from their perspective, made the videos private on YouTube and reported them. The accounts are still active and the videos have had 0 views. They dont give a fuck.

if you think you'll play on PC i'd get EA Play pro for $17 for 1 month

you get the battlefield 6 phantom edition which includes tier skips and other crap, and a full 30 days to play. Just set a reminder in calender to cancel after 25 days (it'll run the full 30 days even after a cancel).

If you really like the game, while you still have the sub you'll get a 10% discount on the game so thats pretty nice too.

only bad thing is its PC / EA Desktop only, not available on consoles and not sure how it interacts with steam.

still on the fence, i liked the beta but i also feel like i might have gotten enough with 1 weekend. might just play with Play Pro and see if the game grows on PC with me, and continue on PS5 Pro later

I really don't understand what's so hard about anti cheat. You would think it would be trivial to have an algorithm that looks at head shots, hits% how fast you kill someone etc. to make a determination on if someone is cheating. Or just let people have self administered servers.

Nope we need kernal level access to scan your asshole every boot up that does nothing to prevent cheaters.

They aren't even that smart about it, most hackers in BF will go 100 and 0 in one round then spend a few rounds just dying to balance it out. i've seen this in other games as well and I assume they just keep an eye on KD ratios.

Not exactly. I'm not here to shill for Riot or any other studio. I'm just pointing out the reality of the current FPS ecosystem from a player's perspective. If you've been around the competitive scene long enough, you've seen how hacks have evolved from crude wallhacks and aim-bots to highly sophisticated, memory-manipulating cheats that bypass most traditional detection methods.

That cheating clip is like, 50/50. That's what a cheat looks like, but it's also what some one trying to look like a god-aimer would do and if you just pick the best 1% of your games, I'm sure even a potato can catch a worm.

It's like the Indian guy making those drinks and constantly shaking his head to make it seem like he's doing something special, but if you pay attention he's just regular speed.

That is how majority of the companies work, it's almost counter-intuitive to just openly ban cheater reguarly because they'll show they detected the "exploit" that the cheat dev's will patched out in minutes because the cheating industry is big money. But due to the banwave, a lot of times you run into "tiered" services.. which then causes sorta exit schemes for out of date cheats that have a higher ban rate than more expensive cheats which are 1 of 1, or 1 of 100, ect.. Ontop of, some cheats are external in some cases now, more than just an executable on your desktop.

I think the best strategy is quite literally bring back communtiy-driven servers, ban people for anyone who doesn't abide by the coummunity code of conduct; sure it sucks for some people like myself but i'm happy when I get banned for cheating rofl.. i'd rather see that as a form of "microtransaction" than a plethora of cosmetics.

I will say they did pretty decent with Apex Legends and the cheater problems, that it wasn't felt all the time. Things like aim assist and balancing were more glaring issues majority of the time.

I can't speak for every other company, but atleast VAC 2.0 is trying to utilize an AI model which I would assume would pay attention to things like stats and percents.. but I guess we will see because it ain't shit r/n..

Server menu with active admins was the best way imo. Sure it might of caught some % that were doing nothing or admins abusing their powers, but overall was better at policing cheaters and other things like people who take major vehicle and "afk" with it to sabotage their own team, or ones that abuse the in game VOIP, etc.

I really miss server browsers. I played Q2 rocket arena for over a decade off and on, because I played on only 3 or 4 servers, and I could look at the connected user list and see who was playing, and if it was "the usual group". Not looking to join a 3some or a 4some and team up, but look at the 12-15 people connected and confirm that it was folks that I knew and enjoyed playing with AND against.

I haven't played any of these browser-less games for any long period of time. It's all random people, all the time, and you can only join up in parties as teammates.

They could get even lazier and have server kick votes like the olden days. If 20 out of 64 people want you out, you're out for 6 hours or whatever. That'd more than likely solve the problem. I doubt most dildos could muster 20 friends to harass kick people, but I could see not getting 20 votes or whatever number because most people are just not paying attention.

It blows, last weekend we had the same issue as 2042. Waiting 10 plus mins between rounds for it to find us a game after we just left a full server.
