Still having fun a couple hours here and there. Almost to 80 hours so far. So got my money's worth already.

Starting new guns this late can be a bitch though. Started the SCW the other day, and you dont get a flash hider right from the start like other guns. Basically fire once and everyone and their mother knows where you are. They really should speed up the progression, since they nerfed the bot lobbies.

Get to play the season 1 new map for a little bit, but then looks like arc raiders will take the shooter spot in gaming until I get bored of it.

Did finally encounter my first cheater last night.

Apparently they're changing some of the more ridiculous unlocks (150 200m+ kills for recon 3) down to like 5 so they're making some changes with season 1.

Assault's deployment beacon being gated by the adrenaline kills is being adjusted too i think? either way thats an annoying gate despite it probably being very easy if you just go into squad deathmatch for an hour or less

this shit has my system struggling though, looks like its time for me to upgrade

Shroud explained that pretty well why games like these need bloom so people like him dont just go balls out killing everybody in the lobby with pin point aim and accuracy with lazer like weapons. Its a balance mechanic to keep people like him in check. Besides, even in RL, there is always RNG based on the gun you are using and what ammo, etc... Regular M4 is rated for 4 MOA but realistically can shoot at 2 MOA (2 inches at 100 yds) accuracy rating at 100m.

Of course this is heavily reliant on ammo type, and is why competition shooters make their own that are dialed in.

But in the game this is pretty much shrunk down into 25m-100m or so since the game does not have too many engagements beyond those distances other than snipers and DMRs.

If you can hang, team death match and similar are great newest grinders for getting the first several levels fast

Unlocking gun attachments wouldn't be so bad if you could actually attach them in-match when you unlock them. Most guns are half a gun until you get a foregrip. Most of the other attachments after that are the extra smoothness, but man the recoil and bloom on raw weapons is ass. It only takes like 5-10 kills to get the weapon foregrips and a better scope usually, but you're stuck in the match sucking shit.

Bloom is a fix for problems that plague these games, but I don't think it's the issue. It means you don't need MMR because people who are aim gods are fucked after 8 bullets and have to tap fire and maybe Ricky Recliner Gamer can fight back in that time and win. But having your bullets not go where they're supposed to, especially after stuff like sliding, leaving vehicles, strafing slightly, and standing up from a prone is absolute horseshit game design. I'm not saying I want COD dolphin diving, I don't, but if you go prone behind cover and then stand up you've got like a 1.5-3 second window where your shit is fucked. It's awful. Most games figured out the fix to this by having your gun go away/raise up based on when they think you should shoot, but THEN you can SHOOT! Being able to shoot imaginary bullets is some psyop shit.

Also their netcode is fucked. If you have turned on delta tick log to see how fucked it is, I recommend it. The "He wasn't looking at me!" and "I'm 6 feet behind a wall!" shit starts to make sense when you see several of their bullets are 100ms+ out of sync with your game. Probably somewhere between 35%-65% of all kills on me had one or two delta ticks over 99+ms. That's bad. That's real bad. That means having 23 ping and the other guy having 54 ping means nothing when it's all getting fucking packaged in the server in a roundabout and mysterious way.

This game is like 10/10 visuals, 10/10 audio experience, 6/10 actual audio (no footsteps, silent helicopters), and I'd say with the bloom right now I'd give it a 5/10 shooting mechanics. In no game ever should your bullets be meaningless, and especially not on purpose.

The maps from beta were ironically some of the best because most of the maps become vehicle fuck fest outside and infantry CoD running inside. I wanted the feeling of Squad pushing with Recon intel and LMG support and forward assault recon becons, but that doesn't really happen. You try that and one of the 8 tanks on Firestorm wanders over and kills one of the two guys on your squad that could even potentially damage it.

The infantry only stuff is okay, but a quick ADS AR or a hipfire SMG just shreds any other type of play right now and it feels way too CoD. Watching people go like 40 and 5 with 34 hipfire kills is not Battlefield, man.

It's like getting a match that has someone who is a pro pilot. They just dominate. No clue how you solve it, because even if you all equip AA missiles, they can dodge or go far beyond what you can fire. The only counter is another pro pilot. Seems to be the case for jets or attack helo.

Guided shells/tow usually get me most of the time sans someone that can fly jet and hit cannons.

Flew above average in other bfs, I can't get here to work. There's next to no left/right rudder control so you end up having to roll precisely onto the line you want. need to try breaking out a controller if I can swap between that and keyboard seamlessly.

Your fucking high man. Or never shot a real gun in your life. Not that this is supposed to mimic RL but there should def be penalties for sprint/strafe/slide/getting out of cars etc.. and aiming. I literally said I'd rather have my gun down and not usable than shoot fake bullets. I think it's fine if your gun is unusable after proning/standing up/jumping out of a vehicle.

I'm very familiar with how firearms work. If you can point-fire 10 rounds at a guy 3 feet in front of you and miss every shot I'll eat your fucking shorts, dude. MOA is measured for 100yds in INCHES, so when you're missing people at 25-50m by several feet?

It's a bad way to make bad players feel better and good players feel worse.
