I've been having a lot of success with the DRS-IAS, have any of you tried it?

Pairs well with Engineer & Support.

I wish console players started mute.
Why do they think we want to hear their domestics, babies crying, farts, burbs, random TVs in the background, etc

Yeah that shit pisses me off. Nothing like some faggots making breathing noises while their wives bitch at them from some other room.

Is that really what these games are like? I don't know I don't play them. I guess the last competitive shooter I played was Counter-Strike 1.6 back in college and the first Planet Side, probably the greatest massive FPS game ever. Vanu Sovereignty all the way!

Its not all the time but once in a while you run into one of these assholes. Its the squad chat that youre randomly placed in? IDK never bothered to really "investigate" but yeah, kids running around in the background, grunting and breathing noise, bitches yelling from the other room, ive heard all of this. I think its mostly the console plebs.

It’s always cross play console people when you’re on PC I’ve noticed. And it’s funny you mentioned it, I feel like every time it’s some dude with a woman talking to him in the background about mundane things.

No offense brahma but I don't think our reaction times are up to snuff for that game anymore. I tried to go play some UT a few years back just because I missed that game, I went 0-40 before I called it quits. I have to be tactical to win and you just can't really do that in those kind of games.

With that being said the Battlebit Remastered tests will be this month showing off what they've been doing for 2 years while they when radio silent on the game. Shit better be amazing.
Is that game still being updated? I heard it was still in Easy Access and just abandoned by the developers.

Just disable crossplay with console players, PC only lobbies are so good.

Moved on from the DRS-IAS to the KTS100.

KTS is great for medium to long range engagements where you want to deliver consistent burst like a laser. I hovered on the outside of maps with it and found a lot of success. Just dont mod it for hipfire and mobility. It has slightly lower ROF than the DRS but the longer range DPS makes up for it.

Last night I was loving long range fights so much I tested out the SVK DMR, which has 2 shot-to-kill potential. No shimmering on long range scopes so that you can stay hidden. Shoots straight like an arrow and recoil is manageable to fire back to back rounds for the kill. Add thermal to it and GG. Easily my new favorite gun because it's easier to surprise enemy snipers (if they don't have thermals) due to no shimmering of the scope.

It pairs up well with support too. You can just find a nice spot, put down 2 barriers, throw out the ammo/health bag, then go to work. If someone spots your location, get up and move to new location, re-engage. It's surprising how many people will start congregating at the edge of a fight with long range weapons if they can stay supported with revives & ammo. I also don't bother using my defib to revive people since I find that it's a distraction to cycle in and out of it. Instead I'll just do the normal revive technique because of the faster cooldown that support gets. I've actually found it's a lot easier to stay in the fight doing that method than trying to waste brainpower making the defib get fully charged, landed correctly, and wondering what's going on around me. At least in the drag method, I can drop their body and pop off rounds if someone comes up, then go back to getting them to cover. Feels more fluid with the pace of the fights.

My weapons development journey has ended at Recon & the Mini Scout Sniper.

If anyone's interested in becoming a sniper, I highly recommend going KTS --> SVK --> 2010. All are long range weapons that are great for practicing staying farther out and learning how to slow down your shot cadence. I used to struggle hitting moving targets at 200m+ but after a week or two, the timing settles in and it's easier to headshot people at those distances. Still a 50/50 shot at landing it.

The slower Recon role pays off if you aren't all-in on run and gun objective taking. I typically spend a few seconds glassing for other snipers, laser designating all of the mechanized targets I can for my team, then focus on knocking people off. You can also be pretty mobile as a sniper but your head has to be on a swivel since you're constantly exposing yourself to new angles from other snipers.

I roll with the x6 Thermal with my Mini Scout since it's a lot easier to pick out people against the background noise. It's not as capable as the x8 and x10 scopes for extra long distance but I've been able to headshot targets out to ~770m which is basically the distance between both opposing sniper mountains in Operation Firestorm. Anything beyond that is just retarded and doesn't register as a pixel on my Thermal.

I want to go sniper but I get frustrated that my main recon weapon (drop shadow) doesn’t kill with a direct hit even with head shots.

it does 100 dmg but yesterday I shot someone 4 times in the chest before they fell. I need to follow your advice.

The 3 main sniper rifles will one shot body shot people at their "sweet spot" distance:

SV - 70-90m
2010 - 75-120m
PSR - 100-120m

The Mini Scout has no sweet spot range but it has a much faster followup shot.

I’m a retard and wasn’t adjusting the scope distance. I was just manually aiming slightly higher to hit their chest but adjusting the scope different is a big difference.

If you like sniping, this game is pretty good:

Nice.. multiplayer is what I'm here for. The trailers look pretty cool.
Right now on Steam its on sale for 30% off. I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not (I didnt like BF2042), so I just paid for EA Play Pro for $17. Had BF6 for 1 month for $17, then decided to buy it after trying it out.

It's a shame companies don't really do demos anymore, but c'est la vie.

Do you think PS5 version is worth it? I was really good at Halo 2 when it was on console maybe because of auto aim, but once widescreen TVs became a thing, my aim with controllers has been crap. I have a 77" OLED + nice sound system for my PS5 otherwise I have a 42" OLED + PC..

I hear that PC will have a lot of hackers and the game will eventually be destroyed due to this so not really sure which route to take

As far as demo - I'm pretty sure you can refund any Steam purchase as long as your play time is less than two hours. I've done that for a few games.
