When you log into steam from US with a Aus VPN should you see Aussy prices in the store or US prices? The first time I did this I saw games at crazy prices but then it switched back to normal. Just want to make sure I'm doing it right for the early unlock. I'm using Flyvpn btw. Still shows 19 hours for the unlock.

Man oh man I have not been this fired up for a game since Skyrim.... This review made it even better.

It seems to be getting praised left and right. I need to get home and download/unlock this the AUS/VPN style.

jfording: Yeah * NEVER * purchase anything while VPN'd. You will get banned. However, you can unlock and it seems Valve has no problem with this.

bros post some flyvpn info. Last time I used it for skyrim it was a pain finding a working vpn because they were all overloaded. Some were making announcements that they were scrambling for extra servers because skyrim.

If you want to experience BioShock Infinite at its most difficult, you need to play on 1999 Mode. This typically isn't an option on your first playthrough...unless you input a secret code. The best part? You probably already know the code.

Going back to the sensibilities of late-'90s shooters, 1999 Mode makes enemies tougher, resources scarcer, and resurrection more expensive. Normally, this option is unlocked after beating the game once, but if you're a glutton for punishment, you can unlock it right away. Just enter this button sequence at the main menu (with the "Play Game" option at the top):

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, (Cancel), (Confirm)

That's right - the ol' Konami code strikes again.

As a funny sidenote, this is exactly what Ken Levine said wouldn't happen when we interviewed him about 1999 mode last year:

Probably what we're going to do is you'll only be able to get to that mode through some kind of unlock. Not unlock in the game through "left, right, up, down," that kind of thing.

Things change in development, but we're certainly not complaining because the game turned out to be really good.

On a side note: Fuck every producer/designer that makes "2nd play-through only" difficulty unlocks. Making that difficulty mode available from the start is how it should be.*

*I'm only slightly mollified when the higher difficulty is actuallyTUNEDto require all the upgrades and whatnot you get through the first play through. Most difficulty unlocks are just simple "add 200% health to enemies, they do 20% more damage, you do 20% less, there are 50% less ammo" and aren't actually tuned well.

I have decided to stay away from all threads and spoiler sites. Heh. Even on SA some douche bag is not using spoiler tags.

Hopefully the review wasn't bad... I only checked what they liked and didn't like in the bulletpoints across the top.

So sad my computer is just a tad too weak to play this. That video review looks awesome. I started playing through Bioshock 1 again recently. Still awesome. For some reason I never ended up playing 2.

I was planning to buy Bioshock 2 in a couple days, but if someone gets an extra steam copy from one of these preorder bonuses and wants to gift it, I'd be appreciative

Honestly you would be better served to pirate two if possible. Legit copies require GFWL in order to save even on steam. I bought it a few months back logged in, played most of the way through the game and GFWL had no history of any of my saves the next day when I loaded back up. It's fucking bullshit.

Used FLYVPN to connect to an aussie server but Bioshock wanted to update, took over 15 minutes so I was DC'ed, at the end it said, "Steam servers are too busy to handle your request for Bioshock Infinite."

Guess I'll try again in a few minutes.

(worked 2nd time!)
