yes, think it was 1st month in both theaters and on hbo.

how close this is doing to the eternals is fascinating (well maybe only to me). BA was $1.04m ahead this weekend, but now only $406k. BA is predicted to drop 56% this weekend and earn $8m, eternals earned $7.9m in it's 4th weekend.

Eternals came out while some places were still in covid lockdown and went to Disney+ in 45 days. That doesn't make the Black Adam box office look good at all. Hot take, but this movie was just as boring to me as Eternals so box office stalling isn't a surprise really. Watch what happens with Black Panther 2 next week.

be interesting to see if Avatar breaks that or not, Top Gun 2 opened at $126m but stayed super strong for months and months.

box office pro is still predicting $170,000,000 -$205,000,000 (will probably change tomorrow based on previews) for bp2. bp1 opened with $202m ($25m from thurs).
the only long range forecast i saw for avatar 2 was something like $160-190 also saying it won't have the legs of A1. think it was impressive that TG2 was only #1 for 2 weeks.

looks like it is finally going to overtake eternals, but still under performing lowest projections by a few million. it might end up doing $30m better than shazam that cost 1/2 as much.

yeah, full 4k HDR Atmos rips are out. It's always worth waiting a few more days to get the full quality rips instead of the first 1080p webrips with korean subs etc
