Their launcher has been weird for me too the last couple weeks. Im not actively playing to know if it has an impact in game, but patching up these past two thursdays has been a chore.

Failed all 4 hammers (expected) and burned 20k crons with no successes. The true BDO experience. Seeing all this new armor, another enhance to DEC on each piece and another Sov weapon....the cron grind will be unrelenting

Sov offhand is a huge upgrade and what most people should be prioritizing right now. The armor can be ignored by most people, since you need TET fallen God just to upgrade to it, and then it's time gated to 1 enhance attempt per week. They also said DP will be less important for grinding, and they're getting rid of one shot mechanics in grind spots. Caphras are gonna be the bottleneck for a bit, since you need 20k I think plus 2 PEN blackstars. They went on pre-order as soon as the marketplace came back from maintenance last night.

Very underwhelming Ball. Edanis is a total waste of time since it is gated by having 350AP just to go there. New time travel / world reset won't happen til after Edanis pt2, which is likely 6 months away and probably another 6 months after that if ever.

Hopefully the mana pot I have ready will sell, use those funds to perma order caphras for the next month while tapping my old tet for to pen giving me the second needed for sov offhand. Once that is done I'll prolly uninstall and wait for the reset in a year.

The heidel ball logins start tomorrow I think, remember to do those for another 3 hammers and a bunch of other stuff. I'm curious if they're gonna adjust trash loot prices when they go through and do a pass over all the grind spots adjusting AP caps, I think the livestream made it sound like they might be balancing them a bit.

What sort of reset are they planning? I've been considering getting back into BDO, but not if it means I have to log in my 297AP Lahn and grind the 2+ years worth of content since I've been away.

It is just a term I am using to describe their supposedly upcoming expansion that will allow players to experience existing areas as they were in the ancient past, like Valencia before it became a desert. There was also a large "demon castle" area they were working on, but it hasn't been mentioned at all, so I think it just got changed and rolled into Edania for the pvp types.

I guess they figure that veteran whales are the only thing keeping the game afloat at this point. So, they're reluctant to "invalidate" any work/gear via any sort of true reset or seasons dumping you off at a higher AP/DP.

They had/have some sort of Hardcore PvP server which was basically a fresh start server, but I think its more like an extraction type battleground across the entire map. Not sure if its still a thing, I only vaguely recall reading about it.

I don’t hear much of the hardcore server, was there ever really any hype for it? It seeem black desert keeps trying this small “side games” and none of them seem to pan out. Like the first one they did where you were a spirit and found a character then weapons to do a round robin pvp like 24 vs. that was fun but then canned it quick. They can’t seem to really get down what they wanna do with those.

They really painted themselves into a corner with the Cron stone/Essence of Dawn thing at this point I’m not sure how you get out of it. The game is still enjoyable if you’ve never really gone end game before. There is so much to do, and so much ridiculousness, that you will never get through all of it. The problem they created is that everything you do that is not grinding for Cron stones or silver for dawn’s is wasted time

I would be wonderful if they could create some large dungeons or old school AD&D models with this game. There are some that would translate perfectly. Give rewards for cron stones, big silver, or do new spells/certificates to insta enchant accessories/stuff to I-V That would be fun and worth an hour or ten grind

They never will do it though due to the cash shop. Ultima, EQ, and Asheron’s Call don’t have to worry about this since they had subscriptions, and I’m not sure that wasn’t a superior system. They could get their forecasted cash and work on content rather than content being designed around the cash shop. Your never going to get any content that rivals the game companies main source of income

So after too many glasses of Scotch, I thought with the 300+ FS it would be a good idea to try to PEV my Blackstar TET offhand. Blew through all the hammers I had (5) and 20K crons as well, plus blew up some free outfits I had been saving....didnt make it before the free enchant hit...man this is beginning to suck. like every TET to PEN end game gear is going to cost 500+ BIll? I can do most things at 317AP 409 DP but boy everything I make is going to Dawns or Cron stones now.

Soem more free hammers for Termian, make sure you log in

Getting sov offhand is a huge upgrade for the cost at least. And 3 more sheet AP now from garmoth heart on sov main/awak. For those who haven't logged on in a bit, make sure to hop on and grab the free garmoth heart before its gone in a month or 2.

Getting a SOV offhand is a pipedream for 95% of the playerbase, me included. It is not even something I think about.

That being said, the freebies have allowed me to get my SOV Awakening to TET, my BS Offhand to PEN, and my second BS Mainhand to TET. Its a Godr, so I'll just fail to pity and swap it to a normal PEN. Once that goes, I am thinking of selling it and trying to snag a PEN offhand, since having a SOV offhand could be more beneficial than a SOV MH (as awakening witch).

The more interesting upcoming change will be the changes to the Combat DMG Formula and removal of several buffs:

Not sure if they are going to NOT fuck something up with such a fundamental change, and I'm not sure if this will have any effect on my current playstyle. The one change I am eagerly waiting for will be making ALL grind spots Agris efficient (though the wording is sus).

In those notes on the overhaul, they mention that they'll be adjusting loot values at grind spots to make them line up with the AP requirements. If they do it right a lot more spots should become viable, so we'll see. I'd like them to add more rare drops everywhere, along with buffing trash loot value at places that need it.

Well crap, i was hoping i could just maybe grab another PEN sub wep and wait it out. Im not really active in game much at the moment, 20k caphras feels like a lot

2PEN BS + 20k Caphras
1 PEN BS + C20 PEN Kutum + C20 PEN Nouver
1 PEN BS + 20k Caphras + Gem of Primordial (Edanis drop, untradeable).

Also, there is a free Garmoth Heart in everyones mailbox, so log on to get that at least.

Being able to grind every single spot for hours without running out of Agris (if at all), will make many higher end spots worth much much more.
