This is one of my favorite Marvel characters. We'll see if they make him a normal crimefighter, or the Black version of Batman that can solo anyone with enough preparedness. In his latter version, he beat Iron Man, Magneto and Silver Surfer easily, and claimed to be prepared to take down Galactus. He sliced up Iron Man's armor with the Ebony Blade, took out Magneto in one shot, and one shotted the Silver Surfer.

But when it's Batman, it's OK? Because he's beaten pretty much all of the most powerful characters in the DCU numerous times. Super Preparedness is the greatest power all, in both Marvel and DC.

I'm wrong, he didn't beat Iron Man, just gave him a run for his money.

I'm thinking that this was after the Doom Wars, where Doom convinced the Panther God to turn on Tchalla, and eventually retires him for some time. His sister took over.

Marvel and DC know comic book sales are down, and they think lack of diversity has to do with it. So, in order to make someone more popular, they make them more powerful. Focus on good storytelling, and people will support your product. Honestly, I'm a Black Panther nut, but my favorite stories weren't when he was soloing heralds of Galactus, but when he was stripped of his title by the Panther god and without resources. Because, before, it was all the same. He'd fight someone who could destroy the planet with a fart, nullify their power, and one shot them. The better stories were when he had no resources, armor, technology, wealth or vibranium. I loved the run he had in Daredevil.

It got as boring as when Batman could one shot anyone in the DC universe, with a little preparation time.
