I have to say though, they won't have to do much to "wake" this bish up for 2022 standards. Even in the old one she hated men and was always out to prove how badass she was. They dedicated the first damn 30 minutes to it.

No, because we've always had women action leads (Ripley) and women in male jobs when the setting calls for it eg Vazquez and other female space marines. The difference is it wasn't forced and nobody made a big deal out of it.
In the original Alien, all the roles were created without a specific gender set (stuff like only having a last name etc), so they could just find the best fit.

ironically Yaphet Kotto probably would not be be cast today because its offensive to have a black man be a space janitor. It worked because they did it well enough the nonsensical idea of a small woman walking around carrying a huge machine gun flew over your head. If the Vasquez character was done today she would be complaining about the ballbusting going on, not meeting it with more ballbusting.
