Played it all afternoon. Running a 5070ti here, and the game was as smooth playing as I'd want it to be (max settings / 2k / dlaa). No issues at all. Game does look pretty crisp. Very much a BL game in everyway of course. Its very difficult to focus on doing the Story missions as they become available, so much else to go explore and find.

I'll never forgive these guys for what they did with the Aliens IP. Sega hired them to do Aliens: Colonial Marines and the e3 trailer looked amazing. Turns out it was all fake and the game was shit. Randy Pitchford took Sega's money to finance Border Lands 2. Fuck that guy.

Very well done. Best looking and best game play of all Borderlands. No cringe story like BL3, though the humor of BL1 and BL2 are not quite there.

Performance, yeah it needs some work.

CPU: Ryzen 7 9700X
VIDEO: AMD Radeon RX 9070 16GB
RES: 3440x1440p ultrawide

Everything on high getting 70-80 FPS with AMD FSR Quality. However ... native resolution is NOT an option. Turn off FSR and its a slide show.

Definitely recommend. Will need a decent PC though. All the Borderlands are among the best COOP game ever.

Adjusting back to a first person pov has been slow, and the apparent lack of a dodge/dash is aggravating. Is there an actual Dodge/Dash ability in this, the Slide is all I can see and that sucks.

Apparently there is no world sharing in coop? So if you play with friends and unlock stuff in your world if you host it, it doesn't unlock for the people playing with you.

Should be timestamped.

Been playing the guy that can bust out shoulder cannons. That shit is cool for my old ass trying to play these type of games. Clap trap is still annoying.

Not sure how many other coop games save progress for the guest though.Still dumb as fuck. MusicForFish MusicForFish and Regime Regime would join my world where I do all the heavy lifting as normal, and would have to do it all over again in four times the amount of hours. That’s just not fair to them.

I think the issue is that the others did? Been a while, but quick google search for the earlier games

Borderlands 2 - It's based on the host's story progress, and players can "fast-forward" past completed missions when returning to their own game, though they won't receive the rewards or XP for those missions again. This system allows players to join friends ahead in the story without losing their individual progress. So if you completed quests ahead of you in coop when joining a friend, then started playing alone afterwards and reached the quests you did coop you got a prompt saying something like "you've already completed this mission, would you like to skip", then you would be put to the point of progress where you stopped the coop session.

Borderlands 3 - if you start characters together and then switch to solo you would both be at the same point when you switched.

Borderlands 4 - Nope?

I think performance might be bad because they're leveraging some of UE5's raytracing like stuff with Lumen etc... Reflections are really nice and don't seem like screen space/cube map or whatever. Can look straight down without the reflected object being in the scene and the reflection still shows the actual environment on reflective surfaces. Lighting/shadows may be the same.

Ok I figured I could refund this if it was bugging out. So far it’s fun in a new game to play. Will see in the long run. Coop always makes it fun anyway. Playing solo for now.

Performance is confirmed dogshit. 4K badass settings requires DLSS quality on a 5080 7800x3d with 2x frame gen to hit 70-90 fps depending what is happening. That’s fucking ridiculous

4K DLAA badass - 21 fps 😡
4K very high settings DLSS quality no frame gen hovers between 40-50.

I may check out the updated drivers for this game but for now I’m stable with everything else and Nvidia sucks now with their updates breaking shit most of the time so I’m hesitant.

Are you playing this game? If so curious what specs and performance you are having. This tool won’t change performance issues within the game I do not think.
