The United States has no mandatory maternity leave, so strike that one unless we're talking about those evil socialist countries.

University admissions do not favor women. More girls apply and girls have better grades on average. Very soon, some universities are going to start making a quota for boys.
FMLA?

So why do women not complain about equality when it comes to custody of children in U.S courts? Seems equality is only good when it benifits you.

How do you figure? My wife has taken FMLA leave with all 3 of our kids.
It applies to men and women equally. Either gender can take 12 weeks unpaid leave. Araysar said: "B) Maternity leave (vs. paternity leave)."

It still provides for maternity leave. Just because it also provides for paternity leave doesn't mean it doesn't provide for maternity leave.

Are you seriously in academia?

If you weren't retarded you would have said "The maternity and paternity leave provisions in Federal law are gender-neutral so thats not an advantage for women."

As someone who works closely with FMLA from an employers perspective this is not the case. You can't just take unpaid leave for whatever. You need a legit reason followed by documentation and men trying to take of for paternity leave are often denied.

If it was really about equality then the concept of feminism wouldnt exist, it would be called "equalism" but feminism is pretty transparent in the fact that it doesn't look to equalize itself with men, it wants to domineer over them and subjugate them.

Just look at the shit they write about reducing the males in society to only 10% through eugenics and extermination and then have them just live in their "man caves" presumably as breeders. The fact that they are pretty much advocating a wide scale systematic rape of men completely goes over their head.

And you know what's funnier? The one thing that women hate more than men is other women. Watch a bunch of women try to run anything, these bitches turn on each other faster than anyone.

I meant it's not paid leave and it doesn't apply only to women.

It's paid if you have pto or vacation days or whatever system your employer has. In fact using up the PTO is used as a deterent for abuse.

I can asure you from attending many arbitration cases that it is not applied the same to men and women.

Exactly, whatever system your employer has. There's no federally mandated system for paid maternity leave. What system your employer or union has is a different matter entirely.

It has zero to do with our system. A company is allowed by law to use your pto or vaction days for FMLA.

Do you tire of every other post you make starting with "what I meant was" or "that's not what I meant"?

Say what you mean if you aren't already?

You have not shied away from personal attacks between you and I in the past of the Politics Thread, don't you dare try to all of a sudden pull the poor defenseless woman card.

The post I was responding to was Araysar's which said that there's a "law on the books which systemically and openly benefit women to the detriment of men" with regards to maternity leave vs paternity leave. All I said was that wasn't true.

Even simple, plainly factual statements are being taken apart.

You're all too mentally incompetent to win a factual argument so you try to make a semantic argument where one doesn't even exist.

So let us pretend you "won" on this and that we are truly equal when a baby is born despite that not being the case. Do you have a child?

Anyways, find a law openly benefitting men. Put that nail in the coffin of our argument. If you were really steeped in academia you would have known that was the wiser play to give yourself firm footing with which you could then switch tack to the argument you just tried.

Mist, let me show you how to do this:

(Q) When can a parent take leave for a newborn?

Mothers and fathers have the same right to take FMLA leave to bond with a newborn child. A mother can also take FMLA leave for prenatal care, incapacity related to pregnancy, and for her own serious health condition following the birth of a child. A father can also use FMLA leave to care for his spouse who is incapacitated due to pregnancy or child birth.
Per the FMLA website:http://www.dol.gov/whd/fmla/fmla-faqs.htm

Wow look, evidence and citation to argue a point. IT'S LIKE ACADEMIA INVADED THE INTERWEBS.
