Consecutive on the +3 would have been 13 years and plenty enough to send a message.
Not sure the judge had the latitude on this to go for a life sentence. I get the need to set an example, but going from 0 time and probation all the way to life sentences is going it a bit strong.
I know handgun homicides that are getting out earlier than that, albeit by just a few years.

Bet she regretted that guilty plea almost immediately. No time off for sparing the victims a trial is interesting.
I'd like to see how she sentenced repeat career offenders like Jamal and Dankquan on their 3rd and 4th violent felonies.
"restorative justice" might explain this one.

Slap on the wrist and make sure she's out of jail by the kid's 18th birthday to see if she can seal the deal. Also seems like she wasn't serious, because if she was she'd know 16 is the age of consent in penn.
From the article I don't see why the husband was caught up in it at all. More likely he was fired for the other matter they were investigating but the papers went with this story because it was more salacious.
