I have mostly dodged the entire game but if you learn parry it probably makes it way easier as you counter for big damage. Just did a Chromatic guy that you could only parry to hurt. I had to git gud.

Jumps and Gradient parries require the specific input. Normal attacks can be dodged or parried, but if you don't get used to parries eventually the later fights are going to take much longer. I have a lot of fights where the majority of my damage comes from counters with the picto that increases damage with each parry.
One enemy type in the game will actually continually attack as long as you successfully parry, killing themselves. If you fail a parry they stop the attack.

For those still early on these are the things I've noticed you can "miss" in the game
- in the prologue, if you inspect every trash can you get... something? I dunno i missed this
- there is a mime you can fight in the prologue (moderately difficult, good for parry learning) and get a costume and stuff
- i guess you can miss some of the 3 token things although seems unlikely
- there is a quest you get in the first village about a blue mushroom, if you don't turn it in before the end of act 1 i don't think you can turn it in anymore
i think thats it at least until act 3, so far you can revisit everywhere (except prologue) except for the shroom quest. No clue if any of the above is tied to trophies or not.

In act 3 a creature will ask you to kill it. If you question why, you lose the option. If you don't do it, you miss out on a very good picto (auto powerful). I thought it was a weird interaction so I Googled it immediately after, had to reload the save.

Finished the story, true 10/10 game. Time to do the extra content before i do a NG+ sometime later on
i absolutely need to do the other choice now to see if its actually hopeful, i chose my boy Verso despite knowing what would be happening and it was incredibly sad to watch
also i was waaaaaaaay too strong, i 1 rounded both of the last fights so i couldnt actually see any cool attacks. That's a regret, but NG+ should remedy that.

Act 2 takes the longest amount of time to finish by far
I was happy I could pick which ending, tbh. I let Verso go, since it was the Good ending, imo. Letting Maelle keep Verso's Canvas alive by forcing his soul to energize it seemed evil even if I sympathized with her condition. Renoir was the true hero for trying to get Aline and Alicia to accept that Verso was dead and to move on. Zero chance of me re-playing the game just to see Maelle use Verso's Canvas for herself (even if she would eventually die)

That's apparently the second hardest boss in the game so not sure what you need to get much stronger for, lol. Might as well start NG+.

Yeah once I figured out a couple builds that were doing 8-9 digits and one shot a couple of bosses I toned it back cause I was pissed I didn't get to see what they do <_<

i'm still trying to figure out the verso build to do some stupid damage but i think i'm using the wrong weapon, and he'll never be as good as maelle or the based "blue mage" bro who does stupid damage with his lampmaster attack
my mindset is, and it feels like what they intended is all of these post game bosses were meant for NG+ anyway

The key to Verso for me is using the dual-attack blade that lets you take another action right after a base attack. So you base attack (with all the +base lumina active including the defenseless after base attack and the +AP for hitting defenseless) and you end up with 7-9 AP for your second turn. You can then spend some AP on free shots (which can also earn you more AP if you take out a flying trash mob or mark / hit a mark) leaving enough (7 or 5 depending on Mastery level) to do the final break attack.
