This finally dethroned Silent Hill 2 for me, after 25ish years, as the best story in a game. I get people disagreeing that it's the best, but thinking it's bad is just wild.

There's a mod that gives all the real multipliers in game here.
Wish I had this on my playthrough, would almost call it an essential mod. Even includes break damage numbers (in yellow text) and some weapons and pictos that have hidden damage bonuses on them.

There was some mob in the first maybe 30 minutes when you land that the Chinese looking chick says “oh he looks dangerous” that I gave entirely too many attempts to before just saying fuck it and dodging his shit because it was one hit death and I had no res nor could figure out how to res.
maybe I understand now why my 60 year old friend who played wow with us now just plays fucking Civ all the time.

I would say it gets easier but like sekiro you got to learn the timing of dozens of mobs to parry effectively. Good news is you can build yourself to be dangerous when you get hit, and play it more traditionally.
That said, worth it, best game in a long time.

yea there's a fair few mobs you come across that are special (mostly named chromatic ________ ) that you're designed to come back to a bit later. other zones say "danger" when you try to go in. those are optional. OFTEN you can sneaky run past mobs and grab the loot their standing near, but they normally also drop stuff on death and are worth going back to.
