What is making Oregon a joke team?
I hate to be that guy:
A team that would get crushed by a competitive defense. Something the pac 12 never bothers to field...besides Stanford....and they are on a downswing.

I cant stand teams that put all the talent on one side of the ball.

But that's just like...my opinion man.

I don't see how it's not, assuming no further losses:

1. Winner of Alabama/MSU
2. Oregon
3. FSU
4. TCU

To me that's exactly how it should work. Obviously one of the big 5 has to be left out and it's clearly the Big Ten that deserves it this year. More than 1 SEC team ruins the national playoff concept, because then you're telling TWO conferences that no matter what they do it will not be good enough, and that would be the system falling on its face. No better than the BCS it replaced.

Ohio State doesn't get forgiveness for losing to Virginia Tech at home. VT has been BCS bowling this decade and is not some silly FCS upset of the century...but this year it's sadly a fight for bowl eligibility. If Ohio State went down during Beamer's 10 win season streak it's one thing, but this year you have to win that game. It's the worst Tech team in a very long time.

Which competitive defense are you talking about then?

Until the playoff system moves to a mandated (or whatever you want to call it) system of Conference winners being the seeds, I have no problems with a single conference getting two in. If all the SEC teams end up with 2-3 losses, including the SEC champ, but 10 teams are out there with 1 loss, right now you have to take others. There's about a billion grey areas but that is what we'll get until you flat out dictate 'These are the playoff spots, go win you conference.' That's why I don't get involved in this back to back week to week BS about polls or bias, because your only job is to win your games, there will be plenty of time to bitch and moan at the end of November (or whenever). But until then no posturing you do this week matters when you shit the bed and lose to an unranked A&M team.

It's going to be funny when Baylor and TCU end up with the same record and split the "one true Big 12 champion" title.
