That must of been one of the non-BCS bowl games Sumlin won. One day he might actually make it to one. Hell, if he is really lucky he may even win his first ever conference title. But hey, I'm sure Conference USA was pretty competitive.

Florida had the #3 best defense in FBS that year. You also had a lowly Big-Easy conference team (ranked in the 20s that everyone clamored was stupid and would get bitch-smacked by such a hard, ruthless, talented team) against the big-bad SEC team that was ranked #4 AP/Coaches that beat LSU, U. So there is that... You also have Strong who recruited very well at Louisville in terms of offense and especially defense. So what he is trying to say is that Strong did incredibly well.

Refs don't call shit against KSU. It is infuriating.
@radditsu, Texas is showing a lot of progress this year already despite tons of injuries and players kicked off the team. We will find out how much of the progress is real on thanksgiving. The defense will always be good under Strong, it just comes down to the offense developing. If Swoopes keeps progressing along with the o-line, Texas will compete for the big 12 title next year. If not, it will be a 8 or 9 win team and will compete in 16. Strong is having to completely rebuild. Mack left absolutely nothing on offense and huge depth issues across the defense.
If Texas can beat TCU and/or land Malik, it will end up with a top 10, maybe top 5 class.
