ADs at UCF and Cincinnati probably got interesting phone calls today. Obviously it's not TCU's fault ISU had 2 wins while everyone else was playing a conference title game, but it's good for CFB that the committee rejected that kind of "statement".

Or the ADs at Texas and Oklahoma got together to say "fuck this, is anyone at the Big Ten working today?". I dunno at this point. Big 12 fucked itself by replacing 4 departed programs with 2.

While Boykin would present challenges, keep in mind we've played quite a few games against mobile QBs and won. TCU would score points, but Bama would likely put 80+ on that defense with tailbacks as big as their d-line.

Arkansas vs. Texas is actually kind of cool from a regional perspective. I'm sure it means about 1,000% more to Arkansas fans than Texas. AR still has a chip and there should be some good local excitement surrounding the game, which this year is about all I can ask for since Auburn vs. Wisconsin gets about 0 fucks from me.

I'm excited for our bowl game against Georgia (SEC) and then our next season opener against Auburn (doubtful we'll win, but still excited). Our conference move (again) is definitely opening up more enjoyable games and opportunities.

AR vs. Texas does seem like a good game. Sucks AR couldn't finish out some of their games, they were biting at the heels all year but just couldn't finish them out.

EDIT: The Georgia SB Nation site is funny right now. They are not happy at all about the bowl selection and especially not about the competition since we are a "no name team." This feels like it'll be a 2013 Sugar Bowl all over again with how disinterested they are (much like how Florida was for that bowl game). They also love talking about the ethics (or lack there-of) of Petrino and Grantham. This is getting me even more pumped!

I'm happy with Missouri's bowl. Jan 1st Citrus bowl vs Minnesota in Orlando. Only bowl on a network(ABC) that day, and its at 1PM with the 2 playoff games that night(5 & 8:30). I'll take it. We need a Jan 1 bowl in Florida every year to help establish recruiting in that state.

I think it'll be a good game ultimately. Any time we get to play a ranked school (especially SEC) is a good thing, especially in our first year of the ACC.

So in summary, it looks like the SEC more often than not plays higher-finishing teams from other conferences (SEC #3 plays a #2, #4 plays a #1, #5 plays a #2, #6 plays a 2, #8 plays a 4, etc)

The Big 12 generally has to slum a bit and play lower-finishing teams in other conferences, #1 Big12 team plays a #3, #2 plays a #5, #5 plays a #12, #6 plays a #11, etc.

Its pretty obvious how much respect the national media and bowl system gives the Big 12, they get to play the dregs of other conferences while the SEC is playing top-ranked teams in other conferences. 3 of the 7 Big 12 bowl games are against teams that finished in the bottom half of their conference. Only 1 of 12 SEC bowl games are against opponents that finished in the bottom half of their conference.

Although I do think Missouri and Georgia or Ole Miss probably should have swapped places, when opponent is considered, but I'm perfectly happy playing in Orlando rather than Charlotte or Atlanta. Playing in Florida is more important than either of those locations for Missouri.

It is also a bullshit analysis because the SEC picks which bowl games its teams will play in, the Big 12 does not. The Big 12 lets the bowls pick.

It is also bullshit because the SEC has 5 more teams than the Big 12. So saying the number 12 SEC team is playing the number 5 Big 12 is incredibly disingenuous; they have the same record and Arkansas will be favored.

Lastly, the Big 12, the only conference with two teams with a real argument to be in the playoff, somehow ended up with zero teams in the playoff because lolcommittee bullshit. This of course throws off its numbers compared to the other Big 5.

Oh. Em. Gee. That was the single greatest performance I've ever seen a team play. Ever. Surely blows the doors off any game this season by a couple circles around the planet. That's not just homerism - that was literally almost completely flawless football for an entire game. Holy shit. I'm still mesmerized. The only mistake I can point to is one dropped td pass. Remember this one guys; you likely won't see another team play at that level again in your lifetime. (Biggest underdog point margin victory in CFB history - and it happened in a CCG no less!)

As for Bama, they're always overrated along with the SEC. The last time the Buckeyes played in the Sugar Bowl against an SEC team, that SEC team lost.

Thats ridiculous.

Every team plays every team, there is no better setup in a conference than teams arbitrarily making a ccg where they dont play at least half the conference in the first place. Playoff is a sham, OSU lost to a fucking horrible team and will get wrecked again.
