The Buckeyes might indeed lose tomorrow because it's hard to beat quality opponents while running ~3 plays, none of which involve your best player.

I'm just hopeful that Meyer's mea culpa wasn't just lip service.

And that Beck will be given the opportunity to succeed elsewhere the moment the season is over.

Looking at this review there is no way that's not a TD. That is a pretty questionable call but TCU says suck it refs and score anyway.

TCU wins in OT.

I'm still waiting for a headline to have the actual buyout of Miles correct. So far none of them have been within at least $4 million. His salary this year is subtracted and then some from the payout that is often quoted. It's closer to $10million over 8 years than $15 and it scales depending on his new contract as well. It also goes down if he was to get hired by Michigan lol.

I'm not sure why everyone is up in arms about it. If everything had gone the way Miles requested he would have retired at the end of the 2016 year with no coach in waiting hired for the 2016 year. Either way his time was limited at LSU one way or the other.

A good frined of mine works in the SID office at LSU and even tho the AD and Miles work in the same building Miles never speaks to the AD lol.

Everyone on TV this morning is all LSU has to do is adjust offensively and they're OK. Umm that's the issue at hand. We had multiple delay of game penalties after a time out lately and after the game Miles said, the OC isn't making up his mind fast enough for me to approve it. The OC has to have a backup play and each play Miles has to OK before it goes in but he doesn't make any suggestions other than Yes/No after the play is called lol. If he rejects it the OC has to have a backup play ready to go that instant. I thought it was Bush league to throw the OC under the bus for not having a backup play ready to go in after a timeout, but he did it 3 times but doesn't lend any guidance to the OC. Whatever.

Should be easy to call plays today. Run left, run right, run middle.
That's been their offensive philosophy since day 1. If Borzak is correct, the right play to get a yes is a run every time. That is Bush league though. Why have an OC?

Kind of what I thought to. Him and defensive coordinators do OK together but him and offensive ones seem to be a grind the entire time.

There's a lot of other things that were said between him and the AD and then the TAF. I'm no longer a member of the TAF but my dad is big in the TAF. We'll see. Apparently him and some of the coordinators caused friction with a 3 way including the AD. Which led to Chavis leaving on bad terms and sueing LSU (and A&M) contract wise. He has been all defense since he arrived, which was fine but when the entire team keys on one player now you have to come up with something to alleviate that problem.

He said in the postgame the delay of games after timeouts in the Alabama game and Ole Miss were because of that. Everyone kind of was like - way to throw the OC under the bus. Why not just say "They beat us, or what we did didn't work out".

Miles never changes tho. I really didn't care for him but that stemmed from something he said behind closed doors to the TAF, and not his on field performance. But has he ever made a change or adjustment at the half lol?

But there's a lot going on behind the scenes so to speak. He pushed the AD to get a buyout clause for the coaches that was large if he retired and above average if he was replaced.

When ass holes collide from the sounds of it. The AD is/was on a hotter seat than Miles, but it's easier (in the past) to fire a coach than the AD. His firing has to start with the board of supervisors. The TAF pays all of Miles salary minus the $200k-$400k (it changes each year) he gets from the university. The AD doesn't get anything from the TAF.

Didnt think OSU could run on Michigan but made it look pretty easy. Either way whoever wins, we lose.

Come on South Carolina!!

Worked with a guy from Michigan. I asked him if he ever went to a Michigan game. He was like "You don't understand how big Michigan is. It's like 3 hours away from where I lived."

I thought that was cute.

The question is who are they going to replace him with and how much will that contact cost to buyout. Miles leaving isn't a bad thing, how it happened is a bad thing. He won't necessarily go anywhere and might retire and collect some checks.

Having some people on the grid iron club getting everyone riled up and then slow playing Miles firing isn't helping and LSU has already lost recruits because of it. Fire him or don't, get the replacement lined up and act like an actual organization and not just a handful of whales getting pissy because we lose to Alabama and Arkansas. One of which was pretty obvious was going to happen with how one dimensional we are on offense and how weak we are at DL. Shouldn't be discussing this with games left to play. Bad form.

Miles has some issues for sure. Mostly on offense but this year's defense has been pretty terrible, especially special teams. We are very weak at DL and the offensive line has been garbage. We have a lot of freshman playing. QB play has long been an issue as well. There have been enough coaching changes under Miles to say it's time to get rid of him but in the end you still have to find someone better. Who exactly is that and is available?

Chip Kelly probably is out at Philly if they are smart. He did well at oregon. Maybe him assuming he doesn't get another year in the pros.

Jimbo is at FSU, that isn't going to be easy to pull him away. He makes what? 5m a year and is in an easy conference so he has a cake walk most years to the bowl and playoff shot. Granted there are some issues there with the AD but LSU has high expectations.

Who else?

I'm not so sure there is anyone. We'll see.

I don't care either way. I haven't watched 1/2 the games this year and most likely have attended my last one in person.

Hopefully they could get someone who believes in both halves of the ball. LSU is right at 50/50 in the SEC over the last 3 years. The time of winning on defense alone is pretty much over, even for teams like Alabama.

There's still alot of bad blood between the TAF and the AD on Miles getting a contract extension and renogiating after it "leaked" from his agent that he was going to Arkansas. After that episode the AD can no longer approve changes in contracts without a vote from the TAF and I assume he's pretty SOL going alone when it comes to hiring a coach.

Don't know what they will do. Dad knows (at least the TAF) but I'm not really going to ask. If I had to guess it won't be any of the coaches most people have rumored. They'll go after a second tier coach and see how they do with better recruiting, facilities and exposure. Much like Saban and Miles.

Either way next year was going to be his last year. I do get a kick out of all the rumors that quote a "source". Herbstreit this morning said it was bad form for fans to discuss hiring a new coach while the other one was still the coach. Excuse me Mr. "Miles is going to Michigan" lol.

I've said it here before and have said it for years. But the goodwill of Miles was going to wear off faster with the TAF than any other possible coach that had won a national championship. I'll leave it at that.

Not LSU related but I saw where ESPN has lost 7 million subscribers since 2013. I guess people cutting the cord don't care if they can't a lot of sports.
