The reality of the situation is that the more teams you add to the playoffs, the less exciting the regular season becomes.

This is going to go 1 of 2 ways...and both suck.

A) 12 to 16 team playoff....if you are ranked 1 - 12/16....your in. This means all your popular teams now can afford to lose 2 or 3 games during the season and still make the playoffs. This makes the regular season worthless and not exciting. Then people would bitch that there was 7 SEC teams, 3 Big 10 Teams, maybe 1 to 2 ACC, maybe 1 to 2 Big 12 teams....and Notre Dame since they have special rules every year. PAC 12 sometimes finishes the season without a ranked team.

B) So this is what all the complaining is going to get.... 12 to 16 teams again.....only 2 teams per conference allowed. So even if you had any conference with more than 2 teams in the top 12 to 16....they are shit out of luck. So now you are going to have 2 sec, acc, big 12, big 10, 2 conf USA, 2 pac 12 + Notre Dame ....which is just going to lead to a shit ton more blowouts and with a random occasional upset here or there....but much more deserving teams will miss out on the playoff due to " equality ".

Actually both of those are wrong. The way it's setup to work is that the 5 Conference champions are automatically in and are seeded 1-5 by their raking. Then there are 7 "at large" spots that will go to the top 7 ranked teams that aren't conference champions. Rankings determined by CFP committee. So you could get 8 SEC teams if all 7 at large spots go to SEC teams via them all being ranked ahead of any non-Conference champion. Go look at the last few years of CFP top 25 rankings. This never happens.

Expansion will make the regular season mean more in terms of Conference Champions because they get automatic spots and get top 5 seedings. You're just wrong.

Maybe I'm wrong...but at the end of the day there will almost never be a point in time that an Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas USC, Oregon, Penn State, LSU, or handful of other teams that will fall out of the top 12 - 16 with 2 losses.

Now the regular season is pointless. A big upset doesn't mean jack shit like it does now.

A big upset didn't prevent OSU from getting in this year. Nor did a big upset in the Conference Championship prevent TCU from getting in. Your argument is worthless because what you complain about already happens.

They are doing what the need to do in order to protect the money making machine and tv deals as long as they can, has little to do with competitive play or a sense of fairness.

I've been occasionally watching his YouTube channel that films all their shit. Deion being arguably the greatest "pure" athlete of all-time aside, you can really tell he "gets it". There is an element to him where you can see he can make sense of all the madness, and really relate to the players and the landscape as a whole on a different level.

In this age of self-help book bullshit, it can be hard to parse all the phony, wasteful retardation - I think he understands how to tap into a deeper element with these players from a motivation and "realness" standpoint.

He basically invented the athlete media circus back in the 80's. Dude's been at it for a long, LONG time.
