I don’t disagree that there are less valuable teams currently in the SEC and B1G, I just don’t see them removing them. Having the perennial bad teams is a feature, not a bug.

Thank God the UT grads I deal with consistently aren't as cucked out as this - let me grab a chair and set it in the corner for you.

The death of the NCAA is a good thing; regardless of who pulls the trigger. Then again, it's well known that hardcore college sports fans are fairly retarded, so I guess this is par for the course.

You're punching at air with your "blue blood" comment, and equivocating a "seat at the table" as being a "blue blood". You act as if the B1G and SEC is exclusively made up of all massive, flagship power programs, which is not the case - with enough money and success a program can certainly play their selves into some form of legitimate relevance. Indiana is one of the worst programs in the history of college football, and they just steam rolled to a national title. NIL neutralizes the necessity of being a "blue blood".

Of course a UT grad (assuming that you actually are) can't resist getting catty and bitchy about A&M - and you want to preach about pathetic? The University of Texas has the most resources in the country (thanks in large part to that PUF fund from West Texas) and has done less with more, historically, than any other massive flagship program, especially post-war.

UT has the honor and privilege of being the flagship university of the great state of Texas - and proceeded to get dog walked by OU for the better part of 80 years. You should be ashamed; you should actually apologize to all Texans in here. UT fans should be thanking God that Tech doesn't receive the oil money that the state pumps out of its backyard (and gives to UT and A&M). Mike Leach would've made Mack Brown look like he had down syndrome.

Look, A&M is the CrossFit of Texas colleges. They've built a legion of cult members who would willingly die in an instance for that institution. Tech is based on Arrakis, it trains the faithful. If you make it out of West Texas with your sanity, you'll be a stronger person for it. UT floods Texas with hundreds of thousand institutionally captured progressive women and homosexual James Talarico-type males to depredate the great state - thanks, I guess.

>"My university, filled to the brim with progressives, would never do something like this!"
>Suggests an outcome that all but kills the rest of college sports.
A "super conference" is an outright disaster; Congressional action is the only thing that keeps college athletics even remotely collegiate and geographically consistent.

Ultimately, this could've all been avoided if the lawyers from UT representing the NCAA were half as competent as Kessler and Texas Speaker of the House Dustin Burrows.
Damn, we went full retard on the bourbon last night lol

As expected, the battering ram has been deployed and there are ongoing discussions between politicians and commissioners for all conferences, including the SEC and B1G. A provision has been re-added that would resolve all pending player injunctions and further litigation against the NCAA. Sorsby and Chambliss would immediately be done.

Apparently, a Clemson player just filed a request for an injunction, and it was granted - and the Sorsby case was one of the main arguments.

If this was just the SEC & B1G vs Campbell, the NCAA, and all the leftover conferences - this bill would just fester until everyone involved dies. My hope, and hunch, is that this is bipartisan enough that pressure from Washington (and some political donations to holdouts) might actually allow for some cooler heads to prevail.

If successful I'll begin writing a book in a decade long attempt to rehabilitate Patrick Mahomes University's image. I'd probably title it, "My Struggle".

big 12 going to federal court makes this a bit more interesting now. Won't be surprised Sorsby bails for the NFL supplemental draft which deadline is next week.

Northern District of Texas is in..... Fort Worth. Same city as where the original state judge was from.

Federal judges are a lifetime appointment, they need not bow to any state pressure

Saga over. Tech made themselves enemy number 1 in college football for nothing. Masterclass.

Hey guys, any news on this minor story?

Somewhat selfishly I was wanting the chaos of a full year of this but the Big 12 defended their honor - boo.

Kid's agent was on the radio this morning (Ron Slavin) and said that they wanted to keep pursuing college football and go further in the courts with Kessler, but that TTU advised Sorsby to head to the NFL (Tech finally got to Sorsby's camp and convinced them that the rest of the roster would be punished and it wouldn't be fair). His agent is saying a 2nd round pick, at worst a 3rd - cmon down Browns and Jets!

I was told last night that by the end of last week most of Tech's leadership was tired of this and ready to move on but that "certain factions spoke too much" and at that point "we have to be careful with players agents" for recruiting reasons.

That being said, they would've definitely played him if the Big 12 didn't get involved.

*oh and that they might lobby against Cincinnati because the agent was saying they've (Cinci) been aware of this for 2 years.

Count me skeptical, I think the Big 12 wants to wash their hands of this asap.
