I gave it a try. and really, I feel like im taking crazy pills. and it looks worse then before.
new food/weight/etc icons also suck. old ones were color coded and easily read at a glance. new ones are just this lame as white circle, that all look the same.
quest menu, and action tooltips are a bit more intrusive.
new theme music is balls.

I uninstalled, and went to the same spot to take a screenshot.
And taking some others, and then Im going to reinstall update to compare.
I feel like the old grass was way more convincing. new plants and trees really stand out. they don't fit into the environments the same.
Cloth seems to look betteer in the old.
Old version has way more "global" lighting. inside and everything is still bright and visible. few cast shadows. you'll see in the update, suddenly inside is dark as shit, heavy cast shadows everywhere.

also, just for the record. the magic is mostly total shit.
Ice bridge seems like it could be neat. but, there is basically never a place where its actually all that useful.
light spell, sometimes lights dark areas. most often just puts a glowing smoke trail in front of the camera so you can't see shit.
want to stand still for 10seconds to cast a weak aoe damage spell?
cast a spell to see resources which are clearly visible to the naked eye?
Necromancy/demo pets might be ok. but pale compared to a regular companion anyway as well.
self rez/recall for your body/loot is probably the best sorcery feature.
