Here is a reddit thread that has the control keybinds for Controller / KB+M.



If I can use QWSE instead of WASD, and if I can use 1 2 3 for other stuff, and then swap R for F, I think I'll be good to go.

Will be interesting to see if them making BDO suck was worth making this game. Expect: The only thing that will probably feel great is the character and movement controls.

These guys tried and failed so hard to make any sort of immersive dungeon or pve experience. They failed over and over and over.

Great controls, beautiful environments. Everything else will have no soul or depth.

After hearing about the game nonstop for a few days now and all the hype-- part of me hope it's what the above have said.

Just obnoxious hearing "Game of the year" potential from a 6h playtester reviews. Give me a fucking break. Pearl Abyss doesn't have a GOTY.

To be fair, there are very few "GOTY" style games nowadays, since gamers keep buying slop. If it wasn't for E:33 last year, you would've had a hard time coming up with a real GOTY type of game.

For those who buy this, or who are undecided but will probably get it (like me), just go in without expecting it to be the greatest game ever. I'm more excited for this game than I am for GTA6 for sure... but I've never played a GTA game, and GTA6 looks like DEI infested slop. So while that sentiment is true, but it is meaningless. =)

I've always hated games that are like 30 moves, all of which are like do low low high low parry high for super omega attack. Great pull some of them off slowly in training or something but then if the games at all difficult and heat of the moment i'm usually following back to a few simple moves.

The flow though sounds like cant be as simple as cheating with one of those crazy mice with 15 sidebuttons.

That is why something like New World or Dune: Awakening is my preference - you have 3 skills at any given time that you can assign to QER, which makes it much more intuitive when you're moving around using WASD and mouse.

Shit where you have to be a classically trained Pianist to play effectively is just not appealing to me

If the game ends up sucking, they'll need to give a raise to their PR team cause they've done a pretty good job at making the game look really good.

It features so many systems that every video showcasing the various ones creates a new demographic that is «hyped» for the release.

Problem then being that the systems in the game won’t be deep/evolved enough to satisfy someone getting the game for «that» feature.

That said, such problems won’t show themselves until later in the game when you eventually start noticing that the systems introduced never really expand. So there won’t be many negative reviews (steam) for what will probably be the games greatest flaw. Expect to be 90+ early on, gradually going down to an 85ish% over time.

if you go in with reserved expectations and just want to enjoy a new fantasy open world game, it sounds like it will be more than good enough.

Kinda sounds like people should expect living day to day life in a world with puzzles and combat and a jack of all trades systems which do the bare minimum to be there but are there.
