Incoming cool story bro:
I was one of the first in the world to find that place naturally, couldn’t believe how deep it was. I know this because there were almost zero player markers and bloodstains. All my parkour days in DS3 prepared me and I made it down second try.

So Crimson desert…buy or wait? Still seems like a buggy mess, things like grab a ledge and get sent to the shadow realm to then plummet to your death, makes me uninstall quickly.

Buy.

Bought it, you all teasing too much. 129GB though, had to sacrifice some old games to the void!

Looking forward to trying it, will try play it with a chill mindset and not the usual rush rush rush.

Will try controller first, not sure whats easier to play with but my wrists are starting to hurt with keyboard/mouse. Old age...

Chill is the way to go. I'm hybrid, play with controller and keyboard. I just hate navigating menus with controllers. Everything else with controller is fine for me since I have two extra paddle buttons I can remap to whatever.

Played for a bit and got up to the abyss area. I like the game so far. Controls are a bit wonky but I'll get used to them.

But one thing, is the lighting weird in this game, it feels like it's too bright sometimes and weird artifacts at times.

Yes... but:

Do you want a game where the main story is deep, engaging, emotional and makes you think about your life choices? If yes, move along. If no, they buy it.

Will you get upset that some controls / functions are not what you're used to? If yes, move along. If no, then buy it.

Is this that strong or a build? Looks like he's just punching shields lol
Yes, Unarmed combat can be quite good, but it has a high skill bar, imo. Yes, he was going to have a bad time vs. all those shield guys, but that is just due to there being so many and those shields make the mobs very tanky. There are many other little vids showcasing unarmed combat, especially vs. Bosses.

I'm at ~25 hours in and still haven't left the starter area basically just doing endless side quests, bounties and exploring. If the rest of the areas are as robust then I revise my previous statement and can see myself getting 300+ hours out of it while playing blind. I've been really impressed with the physics and things you can do with creative play as well as the minimal hand holding. Game really feels like an amalgam of an "adult" version of BOTW mixed with RDR2 and a bunch of other features from old/modern single player RPGS.

If they end up adding some more quality of life features (crafting/upgrading with materials in the storage chest is my #1 wish right now) sooner than later it would please me greatly.

The jank is barely noticeable at this point and it is endlessly beautiful. Getting to a high point and being able to see practically forever with everything maxed out is a great sight.

Controller works great for those asking.

I have not ran into any of that but I also have not left the 1st area. I am having an absolute blast. It's not as souls like as ER. There is a definite learning curve for the controls. I paid full price and do not fell ripped off.

My biggest hesitation in buying this was it looked like the type of game that would be way too easy and that you'd just button mash through it like a JRPG. Is that true? Does the game actually have some teeth? If so, I'm in.

Will the game seamlessly let you use controller and keyboard, ie drop controller to keyboard mouse in menus them back to controller?
