Mortismal is working on the platinum, and said it's easily the longest, most grueling platinum he's tried in years. One objective - "capture one of every insect in game". Lol. I'm almost done now, got my flame kuku spear leveled up and just wrecking the game now. New mounts are disappointing but the warthog absolutely wrecks open world mobs so that at least is fun.

I finished Chapter 5, it looks like Chapter 6 sends me to the next zone. So putting MSQ on hold to finish all the stuff I have to do in the first zone which is still a lot.

Yeah that boss fight is pure aids. I did it out of food mashing and also going out of bounds to the back of where the door is and started the “30 seconds to get back to the battle” area to pause and heal / eat. I burned through 10 pills and 45 food. Force stun helped but a lot of that was just pure brute forcing it through. The sword rocks though and after some upgrades is my main sword currently. I got a couple parries in but this fight is totally busted.

I already ran into a wall.

Guess Ill find out how easy to outgrind difficulty is.. cuz I dont see myself mastering combat.

I know the armor is used a lot but I really love the cool armor sets in this game.

I heard the crows are good for the 2hander, but I think that drops a bit later in the story? Right now it just fires laser orbs.

Also, DLSS seems to smear everything. I turned it off now and made a custom setting. 60+ fps at least but much sharper.

I've watched a little of the game so far. I will say it looks fantastic and appears to have a huge amount of stuff to do. The mechanics aren't for me but it does look great.

If that is the Dark Marksman set, how did you get the Chest piece? The place where it is located, at least the one I know of, is inside a castle where I get sleep darted as soon as I step into the tunnel leading to the chest.

Made the Kuku Bismuth Spear today as well, but I'm kinda underwhelmed with it at lvl9. Definitely need to pump up Atk Speed as it feels slower than my 2h or 1h wpns atm.

Gold Bars:
So I got the recipe from the 3rd floor of Spire of Insight. It requires 3 Brimstone, 3 Mercury and 10 Silver Ore. You can get the Brimstone at Dreadfire Mountain / Hexe Sanctuary, just outside the Hexe "do not enter" circle. Basically due south of the "NT" in Mountain, there is also an Abyss Cresset there which pops just by being in the area, nice teleport.

There are 2 Stoneback Crabs there which can drop 1-3 brimstone, but there are 2+ geysers there as well. Find a geyser with a cluster of 3 jets. Use Healing Palm on 2 of them, this will close them (can be tricky to properly aim/hit). Once those 2 are closed, stand near the 3rd one which is cushing out lots of gas. Use the Natures Snare ability, this will suck in all the gas and you'll see a sphere that eventually glows. Release the Natures Snare at that point and you'll see some brimstone drop. This sill get you 4-8 brimstone.

For Mercury, you stay in the same area. Due East of the where the geysers are is a camp "Smoking Lands Hearth". You'll have to go north a bit to avoid entering the Hexe no go zone. At that camp you'll see a crescent shaped pool of liquid, this is Mercury. You'll need Charged Shot, with Ice Imbue. Shoot the liquid, and it will form a block of Mercury that you can gather, do this 3 times and get 12 Mercury total. Not sure what the respawn timer is on the pool of Mercury, but this is easy gold bars. They are also needed to craft Platinum, but not what that is needed for yet. Once you have the materials, you'll need to go to Witches cabin to use their Abyss Craft to make the bars.

Yeah it's that set. I went into a castle from an open window on the side. Some scaffolding there as well.

I'll dig out the video guide if you need it.

I've seen several videos showing that route, it just doesn't work. Only possible way for it to work, afaik now, would be: Finishing Ch8, or having enough Demeniss Contribution to buy a Disguise Cloak. I've seen many other people mention they get sleep darted as well.

Yea, I'm in the same boat. Took a week off at launch, put 100hr into the game, now I'm back at work with a few hours / day to get stuff done, lol.

Chapter 12, riding a dragon, about to finish finally. What a ride. Still a ton to do post game as well - this was an all timer game for me. No need to preface it "but if this was better"... no. Straight up I love this game, warts and all. A proper GAME made by GAMERS for people who don't need nor want their hand held at every turn. What an accomplishment from the studio who brought you BDO. What a world.

One prevailing thought - everytime I log in, after 120 hours +, I am never bored. There is always something leading me into something new or interesting (or frustrating!), but never something I outright dislike. When I go to bed, I'm thinking about stuff I need to do the next day. Its so well designed in so many ways, I have a laundry list of shit to do, that I actually want to go do.

Weird how you're at 120 hours and about to finish and some people are talking about 80 hours still in the starting area.

Eh I was wrong I hit 157 hours, whoops. Also I have like half a quest log in each zone still to do but my wife and kids were finally getting pissed. Done 45/72(?) bosses and still have 10 legendary animals to kill. Got 3 weapons maxed out though so everything dies fast. Final boss was pretty rad

I’m doing my elemental puzzles now and still getting side tracked constantly. mid way through chapter 8 and just finished lvl 4 for base.

That's weird. I just went in and rolled through a wooden door thing and looted the chest. But I was on Ch4 then. Maybe that's it.
