Crimson Desert

First dispatch mission to Timeworn Ruins finished yesterday while I was farming up enough small bones to upgrade all my gear and got a notification saying I had learned about Natima's Horn(?). Had no idea what that was, so I looked it up and apparently it is an item you can craft which resets the cooldown on the dragon mount. Pretty cool, and the materials are fairly easy to get via other dispatch missions. Also got 3 skill points.

Here is a video from a well known BDO streamer, EvilDoUsHarm, going over combat stat scaling. tldr; Double crit from accessories is a myth, you actually want 15 points of Crit from gear regardless of what the stat sheet shows.

Anyone unlock the Chainsaw? Its from the Dewhaven Research Institute, but the npc to talk to doesn't have the quest to start it up. I think it is locked behind Main Story progress, but no idea how far. I'm at the start of Ch9.

Say what you will about the game, it looks great to play, but watching it streamed is boring as fuck. It's quickly dropping on Twitch in viewer count.

A ton of the gameplay is just traveling from point to point. Sometimes slowly on a horse while the NPCs chat, sometimes just warping from fast travel point to point for one line of dialogue for a quest. I’ve fallen asleep a couple times while playing.

A tried and true form of game design as seen in countless other titles. We will probably never have an rpg game that doesn't involve such tasks.

There is an item you can get from some side quest that gives you a permanent buff to Dispatch rewards (+50% more). Yet lots of people say it bugs out after awhile, and I think I found out why.

You can get the Golden Beer (the buff item) long before doing Chapter 9 (unless you just burn through the main story), and if you use it immediately, I imagine it will work as intended up until you get through a story boss in Ch9 and use the reward you get from it. The item you get from the boss is a +20 Spirit boost (perma), so most people will immediately use it.

I had the Beer in my inventory, since I didn't use due to ppl say it was bugged. When I beat this boss and got the Spirit item, I used it. When I did though, the Golden Beer icon went grey, and its use number went to zero, but it remained in my inventory.




So if you have the Beer unused, you'll probably NOT want to use the Spirit item when you get it. =/

But if you don't have the beer when you get the spirit item, I imagine you can use it, then go get the beer. Though maybe the Beer gets broken once you use a perma stat booster.
