But to be fair, I never made it that far in Witcher 3 and I love that game, too.
It literally took me a year and a half to finish The Witcher 3, obviously playing sporadically. The only thing that kept me going was a reasonably interesting main story, and even the side quests were pretty engaging. The combat was pretty brain-dead, though.. I just heavy attacked my way to victory.

Huh Guess everyone else has moved on from CD or not talking about it. Finally last night got a pet cat. Found the place you can research max spirit and it's a town full of cats. Health maxed out. I'm mid chapter 8 and 120 hours in. Now I'm running around finding the caves on my map and just exploring. This game is a blast and a mind fuck.
Can't get enough but very limited on time, hell I'm like barely at end of chapter 2. (keep trying to do stuff too soon when I should probably bomb thru to chapt 4 or 5) Long list of come back here when I have x ability type stuff.

Yep that's were I was last night. Found the secret town with all the cats but I'm too low to research the Spirit tree except the very 1st part, which gives me an arrow that respawns. So I did some exploring.

I’m still playing any chance I get, but time is limited for me also. The other thing is I’m mostly doing thing people have already posted about so not much reason for me to post. I’m only in the third zone exploring and questing. Still loving it.

The Gold Bar change in this patch is pretty funny. All those places that had them just laying on the ground in vast numbers... well, you can pick some of them up now (maybe a lot, haven't tested), but they are "crude gold bars" and sell for 5 silver. haha.

I bet you can do something with them

I got bored way faster than most of you. 21 hours in, I think I haven't picked it back up in a week.

It being this sort of run-on experience would be a strike against it for GOTY. Contenders tend to be games that deliver a complete start to finish experience.

It is also below 80 on metacritic, which normally disqualifies it from nomination regardless of individual experience.

It's great that they are supporting the game with "live service" patches for free, but ultimately the GOTY ship has sailed regardless of who got their 20, 30, 40, or 50 hours out of it.

Don't give 2 shits about a metacritic or a GOTY contender, it's if I like it or not. I still play Alpha Protocol all the time and that was a bug ridden shit show when it launched.

I'm still digging it, but almost uninstalled in a rage last night. I'm somewhere up north , in the dark, and I have to destroy siege towers. Can't see shit, there is an end boss that keeps popping up and sniping me. Then right before the last tower the game crashes completely. Said all my bad words. Thankfully it reloaded right at the last tower.

Mostly stuff we've seen before, going to not cheese it this hard myself, otherwise might as well be full cheat coding in starcraft 1.

Peeps that have finished the MSQ, I just had a pop up saying It was time to move my camp. Isn't that something done at the end? I've barely started chapter 8.

If not, how do. I do it? Google was no help.

So you can move your camp after you have Re-Built Palune.

^^ This explains it well.

After you are done, make sure you cancel everyone on current missions and start it up and there is a cut scene. Then wallah - base is moved. You have some pre-reqs to do first though. And you will want to make sure you have done every quest you can for the original base.

Yeah everything is nice and organized now.
yeah I did what the video and you said, camp didn't move. With the teleporters all over the place I really don't see the point. I quit caring. Finally in the desert of CR, did the spire there. Stopped at the top.

Also PSA to anyone who is still playing: IF you are in the abyss (top map) and see an item called Fruit of Life , don't pick it up if you don't have it as a quest. I looked it up since I could not find any info and found out I fucked myself on a MSQ part. Had to load an old save. It *may* be patched now but I wasn't taking the chance. That's really stupid imo, why let us in there if it will break the game.

Yknow, I was just thinking w/ some of the control complaints, especially if you try to go pugilist etc. I wonder how well those goofy palm controllers would be where your mousehand basically gets 12 buttons or so and then a thumb stick. Forget the names, a friend of mine gave me 2 of his to try for I forgot what game. Just was too alient for me at first and kinda a chore to map all the buttons. But because they map on the controller directly to the inputs you want, it should be better than xbox controllers that last I knew you couldn't really customize.

awesome; here is something you can try. I've used the editor - it works and helps with all that fucking mind numbing farming. I have not tried flipping quest flags though.
That said, it may be patched by the time you get there. I just looked because it was weird for something to be up that high that didn't really do anything and/or require a fight.

Do not pick up the Fruit of Life from the Brothertree in the Abyss until you have started the "Fragment of Life" quest from the Tariv Sorcerer, or you will softlock the questline. The fruit is a key item required for the quest, but if collected early during exploration or the Passage of Malice puzzle, the game fails to register the completion of the objective, preventing progression to the next steps.

If you have already acquired the fruit prematurely, you can fix the broken quest progression using the following methods:

  • PC Save Editor: Use the SWISS Knife Save Editor mod from NexusMods to manually mark both "Fragment of Life" and "Find Fruit of Life" quests as complete.
  • Quest Trigger: Some players reported that visiting the quest giver in the bottom-left corner of the "D" shape in Demeniss and then returning to the Abyss portal allowed the quest to refresh and recognize the fruit.
  • Console Workaround: Console players without mod support may need to revert to a save file dated before the fruit was taken, as official patches may not always resolve the state bug immediately.
The quest itself involves retrieving the fruit from the Brothertree and planting it in the Guardian Tree in Tariv (Mage Town in Northern Demeniss) to restore the tree and unlock associated rewards, such as Cloud Grey dye.
