Patched, loaded my save (~283 quests completed, Nocturne is only available), two base game sidegigs popped as doable (that should have triggered long ago), but didn't get quests for any other new vehicles, though I could buy the one new vehicle. No new map options.

Beyond the display / framegen options, the only new(?) option I noticed was an option to turn aim-down-sights to a toggle instead of a hold.

Maybe you need someone deeper in the weeds than I to identify any undisclosed features.

Lesbo romance with Judy seems more enjoyable than what I did with male/Panam one.

Ya, the Panam romance was kinda disappointing compared to the Judy one. Plus the Panam one is shot through some weird ass nightvision VR-view thing so you can barely see anything lol

Finished the game - tried out both endings. Liked the most positive one (6 mos). Wonder if the sequel will ever make that canon?

Final boss fight was disappointing that it bugged out during a few instances. It let me get in a bunch of shots to trigger the next phases.

If the bugs weren't there, it was a good intense fight. Fuck, even with max ammo, I was running low - had to bust out the katana and melee the fucker.

Cyberware shards finally being fixed is easily the best thing in the patch. Or at least the missable drops are fixed. Unfortunately it seems there's still only 430 capacity available even though maximum capacity in the UI is 450. Increasing the max save size is a really good change too. Even without mods lategame saves came really close to the cap, which meant that if a mod increased the filesize by even a small amount it could break everything.

Other than that the patch is mostly cosmetic stuff like reskinned cars and bikes, better crystalcoat, a bunch of new things in the character creator, etc. And it looks to me like about 70% of the dev time for 2.3 was spent on photo mode.

Edit: Also, the most important mod dependencies (CET, RED4Ext, Archive XL, Tweak XL, and Codeware) have already been updated. Redscript is the only major one left, and the sticky on the mod's thread says that the old version still works with 2.3 anyway.

There is more than 2 endings ;p Some are variations on others, but you have the Nomad ending, the Araska ending (probably the darkest one), the top shit in Night City ending (which isn't so great), and the Phantom Liberty one where they do the surgery. For variations you can let Johnny take over your body and you go with Alt to AI land, the suicide ending, and the "no one dies" YOLO run at Araska tower solo

The game's half a decade old, this shouldn't be considered spoiler territory. But for those who just got it free from PS or whatever:

At least until Phantom Liberty, all roads lead to assaulting Arasaka Tower to get to Mikoshi, and everyone doesn't walk out of there alive.

(Always available) You can always just commit suicide and not risk anyone else's life. The ending is just people pissed at you over the phone, but you don't take anyone down with you.
(Always available) Side with Hanako to take out her brother. Clearly portrayed as the bad ending, as the Arasakas' grip on Night City tightens. They have no interest in keeping Johnny alive, and their surgeries don't work on V either, and you either get engramed yourself or go back to your old life for what little time you have left.

If you've done enough side missions, there are additional options to either get either Rogue or Panam's help in assaulting the tower. However, only one of Johnny or V can keep the body.
Rogue: Assault the tower from the top. If Johnny gets the body, he leaves town peacefully. If V gets the body, you keep rising up the merc ranks with the time you have left.
Panam: Assault the tower from underground. Johnny's ending is the same if he gets the body, but if V keeps the body, you and the Aldecaldos leave town.

Secret Ending: If you've chosen specific chat options over the course of the game, Johnny says "Fuck it, let's do it ourselves", and you two will assault the tower through the front door. You're still left with the same Johnny leaves town or V keeps mercing options once you hit Mikoshi, however.

Phantom Liberty: With the expansion, if you side with Reed, and you can keep Songbird alive, the NUSA will manage to keep V alive. But the ending is pretty disappointing, as the game catches up years later and effectively yells at you for not leaving a pretty corpse, and Militech takes over Night City.
--
Obviously, those endings are going to be messy to align to one common ending with the sequel in 2080 (or whatever). Guessing the Militech invasion of Night City happens in 2078/2079 regardless, with a new Arasaka (probably Michiko) in charge when the sequel starts, with some minor comments depending on the player's choices in the original.

Ah yeah forgot there are more endings.

I'm ignoring your post (as much as I can) so I don't spoil myself.

I figured the Nomad ending must be the happiest one, considering what I'm hearing with the rest. Even if I don't spoil myself the other options seem... grim.

Going to replay with my male V char and do some things I didn't realize you could to affect the ending you get.

I kept it vague, but if you are restarting, you should look up the specific dialogue options you need to pick for "Don't Fear the Reaper" to give yourself that option.

(Unless you are playing on PC, where you can just console command the necessary flag, if you can get the console mod working.)

Started Phantom Liberty.

Didn't expect the intro to be this intense. Just got to the safe area with the Prez.

Totally different than how the orginal game started.

Btw - Optical Camo, Standevision combined with silenced weapons and melee weapons are so broke.

Talk about no-win ending(s) for a game (got most of them).

There's still quite a few bugs but nothing game breaking.

I made the right choice re-starting and as female V (Judy romance is much better than Panam).

I rank this game as one of the all time best first person RPG's imo.

Holy shit, mind blowing to think about that this is already 5 years old. We really hit some kind of graphics asymptote didn’t we. Think most games are worse visually maybe a few on par with cyber punk since its release. And definitely no major improvements in that time .

They are kind of at a point that Game Engines need a sort of kick in the pants, software never keeps up with hardware it is just the way it goes.

I think the best "looking" game has been Calisto Protocol(Just for looks, feel sorry for the game though =/)

Resolution and framerates are setting a tough pace to match. And higher resolutions are becoming more important every year for gamers with TV and monitor sizes getting bigger. VR is the toughest market, where stability is so essential.

This monstrosity (or one with a similar size) would be perfect for me, replacing my small 34" ultra widescreen monitor.

But visual fidelity is increasing of course, the Witcher 4 + UE5.6 tech demo was amazing.

I think GTA 6 and Witcher 4 are the next step up in graphics. I imagine that is part of the reason for the delays for GTA 6. If you cannot come up on Cyberpunk 2077, then why release the game?

CP2077 still the best looking game I've ever played, personally. Crazy that we haven't advanced past the feeling of driving around Night City at night with all the lights and gfx cranked up half a decade later. Every "good" graphical game I've played recently has been mostly crap and the worlds feel sterile and paint by numbers. Hope GTA 6 delivers, but I suspect it won't on the graphics front being a console only release.

GTA6 also "suffers" from having a limited window of creativity. For the most part, GTA6 can only reproduce a google streetview of Miami. CyberPunk 2077 and really, most games, can take a creative flair and increase the drama of the scene.

Ew, 16:9.

And no matter how impressive a UE5 tech demo is, the actual game will run like shit... because it's UE5.

Dogtown question -- is there really no way to get the fixed-spawn airdrops if you aren't playing with a cyberdeck? I've always had one in the past so never really paid attention, but this time I got my netrunning to 35 early and intended to dump the deck right away, but it appears that's not an option unless you're ok with losing all the airdrop loot. I know the random iconic ones aren't locked at all so they won't be a problem, but still that's retarded.

Hardware "seems' that it advances at the same pace of Software..

But it doesn't Software is always trying to play keep-up with any hardware on the market.

Because a games total scope takes so long, by the time you hit market you are considerably months sometimes even years behind the hardware curve. And there is really nothing that can be done about it, specific programs that are designed to take into account this tech are developed but 80% of the time they are just tech demos, they show what the software and hardware combination can do under perfect conditions.

There is 1 catch consoles are mostly stable tech to develop for sense the initial stage of the hardware is what all future revisions are based off of, It makes it much simpler to dev on console, but at the same time you are basically freezing the engine. Some upgrades could be possible see PS4/5 Pro Variants, but over all they are very minor upgrades.

CDPR was a major exception to that rule though. Witcher 2 and 3 both had settings which far exceeded the capabilities of hardware when they released unless you wanted to play the game at 15fps. Even today, Cyberpunk with Path Tracing enabled will bring any PC to its knees without major concessions being made (DLSS performance, framegen, 1080p, etc.) and is really only useable at full potential in photo mode.

That's why it's such a bummer that they've gone the way of UE5 like everyone else.
