Looks like levels are a little different this time. Watched this guy's stream for a bit. He mentioned in chat that he's played around 30ish hours and is level 200.

There is no reason not to believe him, especially if he decided to farm some souls at a glitchy area of the game somehow... I mean, it seems that it will be "harder" to make many different godly SL120 builds in DS2 what with stats being spread out as they are. So, assuming he isn't trying to play Multiplayer there isn't really a reason not to take a character up to a high level to make progress easier/faster.

Don't you get black listed for shit like that?
If you're small like they appear to be, usually not - since you get stuff from secondary distributors rather than the companies themselves when you're that small there's usually no repercussions. (Although the distributor if the publisher tracks down which distributor sent product out early, they might crack down there...)

Big companies have a hard time getting away with it, little ones don't. (In the rare cases they get product early)

Started swordsman, turned the petrified wood (starter item) into the raven's nest near the beginning of the game and got back a

white ring. It makes you glow white and says that it makes you "appear as a phantom, misleading invaders". Maybe it means you can't be invaded while wearing it?

No way they'd have two anti-PVP starters - its probably just the new version of Fog Ring.

Fog ring made enemies not notice you as much right? Seems like a decent starter item then.

So it seems there's a covenant where your objective is to reach a player's bloodstain before they do and take it. Lol. Crazy. And you can potentially lose quite a bit of souls, since you have to warp to Majula every time you want to level.

Edit: Some info on NG+.

"NG+ got a HUGE overhaul. Now there are new enemies, harder enemies and new loot in NG+. This is to reward the player for continuing on and extend the longevity of the game. From what I understand the game assumes you know how to play from the very beginning and punishes you throughout. NG++ and up don't add anything new, only harder difficulty."
