Right now you are capped on how much skill you can gain in a safe zone, so like you are capped at like 25 fire magic or whatever etc etc. That will go out the window I assume when they move all that progression to prowess. Who knows what it will be replaced with.Wow. I'm a little disappointed they're moving away from an activity-based progression, but it's easy to appreciate why it's being done. Macroing is a fucking scourge... huge bummer when those considerations dictate design. I guess I'll just check back when the new patch drops.
How do safe zones work right now? Kicked out at a certain skill level?
I think this new progression will be more activity based actually, you will actually want to go out and kill mobs and harvest rather than find a mob who you can bug out and hit for 3 hours without killing to skill up your stats.
The old system just never even kinda worked, it was awful because it was always caught between being so fast it doesnt keep people playing and progressing and so slow that the people willing to cheat had a massive advantage because they reached the finish line faster.
