If there's a lesson learned from this, don't mess with DBG's underground cashflow operation.
You start selling bags and they'll send the leg breakers.

daybreak sells plat
What a fucking retarded take this is.
Selling plat how? to who? For what purpose?
daybreak sells plat, apparently P99 sells plat, i'm pretty sure every EMU sales plat because you fucking idiots buy it, but this server literally could have been 100% offline stand alone with no internet required to play and been the exact same experience.
EOM where peged to the plat price in the casino. That is how they got value. What a fucking retarded take this is.
Selling plat how? to who? For what purpose?
Buy EoM with donation, sell for plat, buy items. Why is this hard to understand?
What items where there to buy? It would cost like 10$ A full BiS toon minus Seru Weapon and a few augs. Was it really just the scam Casino and a few whales?
My last character was a War/Bst/Rng and I bought full lego block / dodge augs as well as those stupid lego dexterity augs from the easter event. The block augs were 400k and the dex ones were 150k at the end of the server so I could see people being like fuck it and spending money instead of farming plat. I just had a couple of guys that I was running through Seru / Time / Zeb every morning. I'd buy a couple time phased quintesense for the skips at 17k a piece and then I'd usually finish 2 full runs in about an hour 15. Sell the shit I got each day I'd usually end up netting a good 150-600k a day depending on how lucky I was with drops. I'd never spend cash on it but I could definitely see people doing it.I'd be interested to see how many did that outside the whales that wanted all the casino stuff. I never felt like I was ever short on plat as it was easy enough to get items and/or buy non enchanted/legendary items for cheap and level them up.
So $20 to buff the server for 3 hours, are you kidding me? Who the fuck was paying for all this?
Still had a great time for 4 months or so.
BiS gearing a mage + pet including kera augs was quite a few mil plat.
BiS gear is disproportionally expensive compared to the alternative.
I don't know man i started playing after the lawsuit completely for free and quit like 3 weeks before the injunction because there was nothing for me to do, i had everything my character could even theoretically want minus upgrading 1 Kera Shielding aug, i had like 1 mill plat and a mule full of stuff sell. You would level like 2-3 full sets of gear from normal to legendary just grinding out levels/AAs.
In normal EQ i get it. People like seeing themselves at the top of the Parse so they swipe for the Shinai, they like to be the maintank on raids so they swipe for the Bloodfrenzy, they like to raid but are to busy/lazy to level so they swipe for a PL. But after they swiping they still play the game a lot and their is still stuff to do.
If you swiped that hard on THJ what would you even do in game? No gear to chase, the content is all solo faceroll at the point, like what do you even do?
You really are slow.don't know man i started playing after the lawsuit completely for free and quit like 3 weeks before the injunction because there was nothing for me to do, i had everything my character could even theoretically want minus upgrading 1 Kera Shielding aug, i had like 1 mill plat and a mule full of stuff sell. I think that both of those options are good.DDO for now. FFXIV after that. Maybe see where WOW is at after that. If EQ ever stops being stupid and does another free trade TLP I will do that again. Would be nice to get in early on one of those.
I remember when that happened, and at that time, I definitely was a Jchan fan because, honestly, she was pivotal to fixing some shit that others said just was not doable with EQ's old shit code.Back when I was TLPing on Lockjaw, Jchan was known as the "good dev", because almost all their devs were crap. We'd have SOE/DBG tell us "we can't create a login queue you just have to suffer through nonstop login server crashes." Then Jchan posts "actually I can probably make a login queue." She had it made within literally 1 day and pushed to production.
She was one of the few competent engineers on that team, but it's kind of a meme in the software world that your best engineer is often not a good candidate for management, they are different skillsets. Holly wasn't particularly technical, and I bitched about Holly regularly when she was in charge, but she was way better with at least trying to get stuff done the customers actually wanted, Jchan seems to have that engineer's arrogance that the customer is always wrong, and it's reflected in how they make decisions.
They basically mocked the experienced TLP guild leaders who were telling them in official Discord Fangbreaker was a DOA ruleset, they ignored almost all feedback and barreled ahead.
My big thing was the damage meter. Chasing that sub 60s Seru kill.If you swiped that hard on THJ what would you even do in game? No gear to chase, the content is all solo faceroll at the point, like what do you even do?
You really are slow.
The people spending 1 million plat on shit wanted earthen bracers of fort the second day of PoPs launch.
You joined after the server was flooded with loot. No shit it was cheap.
