Saw they were advertising engineering positions, so figured I'd at least look since I lost my job. $40-60k range for software engineers in fucking San Diego, lol. Get the fuck out of here.
Lmao that would explain a lot about the talent at DBG

its small, but dalaya seems to not take any sort of donations. they have some one hosting their server and don't take any money.

So SOME seem to just exist to exist.
Dalaya is nowhere on the level of THJ but didn’t they have a platinum status with a port neck or something

20k people on THJ is probably more than Daybreak has in subs.
That's like 10 Fanbreakers. 3 Teeks. Daybreak should be offering them JChan's job. Miss Holly. Miss people that actually fucking cared about this game.
Met her in game once. Said I wasn't as bad as the people said I was lulz. Actually I'm worse

lol. While they have a case(and probably win it), like I said before, its not as if all those people playing THJ are going to go sub to EQ. DPG has nothing to offer them, when they went there solely for the multiclass system and that you basically solo everything.

But its funny to read all the gloom and doom. As I am sure their financial viability will be no different whether thj exists or not.

The stupid part about all this is when DBG puts out a product I like, I play it. Emus have just never felt quite right, though I have enjoyed them from time to time.

I think its more of a combo - the server ruleset (along with poor in game moderation) was shite and on top of that THJ looked fun. THJ 100% pulled numerous people to play it that 100% play TLPs frequently.

I've played less and less of the TLE servers. I've skipped the last 3. Anytime I run through New Freeport it makes me want to punch a toddler. What intern came up with that garbage?

Oh I agree completely. Most of the zone remakes they've done have been ass.

What’s was the first free trade TLP from a few years back? That was great. I played up to pop and it was fun and the free trade was awesome

Teek could have been good but between the dupes ruining the economy in luclin and the tower bullshit it was never worth it.

If they were smart they would abandon Fangbreaker now and relaunch mischief or whatever it was without the tower and personas and all the shit that isn’t real EQ

my favorite in game era live was luclin through LDON and I just have to accept I’ll never get to have a good run again on any of that content that isn’t ruined by modern shit

Does daybreak release subscription information through the parent company during disclosures?

THJ needs to request subscription info for the past 4 years then leak it so we have proof they've ran the game into the ground.

Do they define what an "active user" or "player"?

I do wonder if their investors believe these are actual people? because DPG 100% would know how many bots are running right now. They just admit here that they can't ban them due to viability of the server.

I'd be particularly worried as an investor thinking they'd have e.g. 10,000 people to monetise or is it just 500 people playing 20 accounts?

The ROI on Tlps have got to be massive when you just recycle older ruleset as they require almost no dev time. So it doesnt make sense why they would not be releasing at least 2 tlps a year separated by 4-6 months to try and maximize the players who want to play different rulesets.

Sorry, all our internets are being stolen by THJ. Can't do that thanks to those thieves!

It's never made sense why they'll release two servers with different rulesets at the same time rather than stagger them six months. Yelinak/Vaniki, Teek/Tormax are egregious examples.

At this point we have enough variations of rulesets they could spend a few years just releasing mixed rulesets 2-3 times a year and turning on the money printer.

They want to release a new expansion every year for live but I am sure the roi on those are getting worse and worse. Maybe they need to go to a every 2 year release and make the live releases actually worth it. One thing they need to learn is people who play live want to play new content. People who play tlps want to play old content. One is much cheaper to do vs the other.
