Yeah like you helped with mine...Community on THJ isn't especially shitty either. Lot of helpful people be it with gear, boss progression, epics etc..
TAKP has all of 45 people online right now and we never advertised our server anywhere because it was a preservation project and not a money making endeavor. TAKP has always had a low population problem which was kind of depressing for me because I thought the project was very successful in regards to accuracy. Daybreak could turn Al'Kabor back on and kill our server overnight if they wanted. (please do) Anyway I haven't gotten a donation in a couple of years. That's long over.Bro idk if it’s smart to say you took unsolicited donations for an eqemu server on a forum that’s literally in the lawsuit. Just sayi, stay safe out there bro

If monetization is your goal then you'll do things to attract as many players as possible, like advertise all over the place. The other emus don't do this. (p2002 aside) Also if you're getting paid significant amounts for your emu (enough to pay rent), you can devote much more time to it which increases the quality which makes it stand out against servers that don't monetize which makes it a bigger threat to Daybreak. You can praise THJ for being well-made but it's a hell of a lot easier to make a good server if you're getting revenue from it.
It's the players that advertise the server, not the devs. I've gotten a few friends to try THJ cause it was a unique concept, I would never tell them to try out some classic EQ server even though we all played EQ back in the day cause that shit's not fun for anyone except true EQ autists. You have to start with a good idea and have it be well made in the first place to get the revenue.TAKP has all of 45 people online right now and we never advertised our server anywhere because it was a preservation project and not a money making endeavor. Most emus including THJ use the rof2 client which is a decade old by now, don't know where you think they use the steam version from.I still cant believe these morons thought they could put out an installer that calls the Freemium EQ download through Steam and pulls LIVE SERVER assets and didnt think it would draw attention. Nothing is free in life. Its one thing to push people to pirate a titanium download from Chrome, its another to monetize a game you didnt create and actively cost money and resources to not just the Developer, but the largest gaming platform on earth.

i'm pretty sure every EMU lists this as one of the options to get the client. i didn't use steam to get THJ I used a link in their discord that downloaded it from some other site.THJ installer literally pulls from steam brother. You can use rof2 but look at their damn wiki bro, it fucking literally instructs you to open steam, add EQ to your library, then copy and paste a command into steam to download the depot files for EQ. You are clearly not at all familiar with THJ, or this whole situation, yet here you are in a thread about THJ, responding to people talking about THJ, while completly ignorant to anything and talking about "other EMUs". Try to keep up Kiddo
So they are showing the steps of how to get the rof2 client, got it. Like shown here RoF2 Client Download (Steam) - EQEmulator Forums, 15 years ago.
